Is this actually true?“Men make just as much as women do,” Night says.
lol okayperformers who hustle too hard may limit their potential. Those who engage in “splitcamming,” in which performers host multiple shows on multiple cam sites at the same time, can leave customers feeling like “a human atm.”

I'd actually argue that there's not just a chance, but a very strong possibility. I guarantee you there are male performers out there who are juggernauts for their customers and blow away average female model earnings in any given week/month/year. That said, I also think the proportion of men making that kind of money is a tiny fraction of the number of women making it at any given time. Female models are more popular, but it doesn't mean a male performer can't make some serious bank. I think we forget it's possible because there are no male models on SW to speak of for us to get an understanding of earnings range from. I'm not saying these guys are making Miss MFC top 20 status bank, but top 200 bank I could definitely see. You know, if males were allowed on sites that had the sort of earning potential of MFC that is.
In other news, I seriously had no idea who Nikki Night was before now, but the article at the very least painted her pretty realistically. The 20 hours per week/$2500 in a month average sounds fairly reasonable if she's looking at the numbers for all models on Cam4 under hear coaching. I mean, it's a better interview article then I normally see about adult workers and I'm both surprised and unsurprised at the same time to see it on Forbes of all places.
I'm intrigued by her opinion of split camming. My personal experience tends to lend credibility to her statement in that I make less when I split cam, but it's not because customers feel like a human ATM so much as it is because I'm trying to juggle more than one platform at a time and I end up not giving my best performance in doing so. Obviously, that's not true for every performer and plenty of girls can run 3 or more sites simultaneously and do it well. Soooo, your mileage may vary on that assertion...

I bet a ton of guys signed up for this site just from reading Forbes. I mean their readership is probably $$$ LMAO good job Cam4 for getting this type of publicity. Maybe looking at my next site![]()

I love Nikki!!! Nikki's classes are geared toward cam4 and token style sites and I found them excellent guides if you want to do token based shows. I also agree with the no splitting if you are wanting MFC / Cam4 type because once your traffic increases and you get a big fanbase it'd be hard to pay the attention these type of guys want.
I think token sites like MFC and cam4 have huge potential but I just don't have the patience for it and don't like free chat shows or making "friends" of customers.
I find I consistently make more money when I splitcam (but I do private-based mainly).

I know a few "camboys'" and only one of them makes around $200 a week (enough to pay bills), but he works with his female partner and had a following from porn. The others make about $100 a week. Nowhere near even the lowest earning chicas afaik.

Sounds like something I would want to add to my to-watch list, is it out, what's the title? (Hopefully US Amazon won't be a bitch and will allow me to buy it with my GC monies that are locked up there that I cannot get out, I think it didn't allow me to buy a song once, but did allow to buy an e-book, something weird like that #offtopic)

Like I said, I don't think they're going to be nearly as prolific and common as ladies making hella bank, but I remember browsing twitter and finding one on Twitter that had that barely legal, super feminine gay boi look and going to his CB account to watch for a bit since he was live. He was bringing in some damned good numbers and if he worked a few nights per week I imagine he would've pulled $1000-$2000 every week. This is making me wish I'd written down his name for posterity now, lol.
We don't have a lot of contact with camboys around here since a) the forum won't allow males to post and b) their audience is generally gay men and ours is generally straight men. Not a ton of cross over there. I'm not saying there are dozens of SM camboys making $2000 in a week the way girls here can, but I'm certainly not discounting the possibility of a male cam model with the right look/niche marketing the shit out of himself, building a site following, selling clips, selling items, working indy, and even having his own site for gifts all coming together to bring in several thousand per month. I doubt it's more than a handful, but that makes sense because proportionally their market is much smaller AND the number of male cam models is very small.

I've talked about it in previous post.

There are always exceptions but we can all agree on as a whole, our industry is dominated by females and we make most of the money. I think if you're going to splitcam with two free chat sites it's best to pretend you aren't. You can always mute the room and if you're going to get naked anyway, seems like the best of both worlds to me. Just watch both rooms side by side. I do agree that private based sites are a lot easier.

I do feel the lack of the male voices on this site.
Gay or straight, problem is when the straight guys reach out to me, it is to hit on me. Not really in a professional manner on how to make more money, hustle, market or cam. Their agenda seems to be sex, making it harder to tell them from a real cam performer or a guy who just got into this to get laid.
Doesn't mean it doesn't exist the male performer hustles & how to make money are very much the same as ours. That just doesn't seem to be the focus when they contact me personally. I do see that as a growth market & important part of the camming industry.
Well, props to this girl & cam4 for trying to fill in the gap between newbies, a site & how to improve at different areas to make more money. Implementing a void I see in this industry, but told by cam companies or ignored that it is beneficial to put real help in place for performers. Putting someone in charge that has done it herself is awesome, instead of someone who has never made a dime in front of the camera. Props to her and Cam4.
