Default Have you ever worked at a club without lockers?

The club I was at last night didn't have lockers. I can keep my money on me at all times, but I don't want to leave my outfits and high end makeup out to get stolen. I doubt I'll be back at that club because the highest earning girl went home with $120 after being there from 5pm to 2am. I left with $33 after $50 house fees. Most of the girls had less than a $100 after tip out, quite a few less than $50. I mean it was a Tuesday and the club is in a bad area, but that's still ridiculous to me.

If you haven't worked at a club without lockers, would you?

I'll put up with nearly anything if the club has a high earning potential. It doesn't sound like this one does, though. That being said, if you're gonna work there or any other club without lockers again, leave your makeup at home, bring only the outfit and shoes you're gonna wear that night, and don't bring anything else you care about.

I've worked in many clubs without lockers and always kept my things in my bag locked up with a combination lock. I suppose someone could have stolen the whole bag but it never happened. Knock on wood.

It doesn't seem like a lucrative place to dance but maybe it was just a bad shift? Did the dancers seem used to making very little money?

i've worked in clubs without lockers. i do agree you want your stuff locked up.

you can use one of those small carry on suitcases. if there's a lot of girls or small dressing room where this isn't feasible, you can use a backpack, just make sure it double zips (meaning two zips on the zipper). for locks, you can use a small luggage combo lock or get a set of small locks and keep the key around your neck.

I briefly worked at two clubs without lockers but they were small -- like 6-8 dancers small -- so there was never really a concern about things being stolen. Still, I only brought what I needed for my shift -- and I don't ever bring anything high-end to the club anyway, even when I do have a locker -- so that way IF something were to have happened, it wouldn't have been a big deal.

I worked at a club without lockers. I locked my wallet, etc up in my trunk. Kept my phone on me. Trusted the cameras for the rest but there wasn't anything valuable in my bag. It was a pain in the ass because I don't leave my drinks out, I lock them up because I'm paranoid of being drugged, so I couldn't bring coffee in with me.

Yeah, they seemed used to making that little. Most of them have only worked at that club. I like to have an extra outfit or two and be able to touch up my makeup. Also, wasn't allowed to have my phone on the floor. I put my lock on my bag for the night, but it's a shady area so I wouldn't put it past them to take the whole bag lol. More than likely I won't be back there.

Is it common not to have lockers? Other 2 clubs I danced at had them, so I just assumed that they all had them.

Well it sounds a little divey? Not necessarily bad, but then $-wise it doesn't sound great..
Yes, I worked in one, (a dive btw) luckily, all the girls could be trusted, although if someone new came in, we watched out..the dressing rm/b-rm were one & the same.
I've also heard of places not having enough lockers too.
You're right, if they really want the stuff, they'd just jack the whole bag.

Yeah, the other clubs I've danced at were much nicer and in a bigger, tourist city. I recently moved and it is the closest club to my apartment. I have to get a cab or uber unless my husband is free to drive me because I'm not allowed to drive for a few months because I had a seizure recently. :/ Which honestly, I probably shouldn't be dancing under flashing lights right now because of that, but I have to pay thousands in bills a month. So, gotta do what I gotta do.

Aww. I am so sorry to hear that. Good luck, maybe you can make it work til you can move on to a better place when you can drive.

My club has lockers but did go through a 2 week period where they got them replaced. It was a pain the ass during that time.

Nearly all the clubs I've worked at lacked lockers, so I'm used to it. I just keep my money secure on my garter and my valuables locked in my car. Never had a problem except when a dancer went through my bag at work and stole a Lorac eyeshadow palette, but now I know not to bring anything of expense or value into the club.

I show up already ready already, that meaning hair and make up already done so only need my lipgloss & powder which fits in my bad ass tiny Gucci bag where all the customers money end up in too. No lockers needed here, if, of course, the earning potential is good!

I just brought a small suitcase and put a lock on it, never had a problem. If you were really paranoid about your entire bag being stolen, I suppose you could always bring a cable lock (like the kind you would use for a bike or laptop) and use that to attach your suitcase to something else in the DR. Like several others have said, it's best not to bring anything of value.

We have between 8 and 25 girls working on a night. My club doesn't have enough lockers so I haven't had one in years. Before we got our cameras, I just made sure to padlock my huge suitcase. I would keep one key on me, the other I put on a colored hair tie to give to the bar just in case. Made sure my makeup and hair was done before coming in since I didn't have room in my case for my makeup box. We had some girls travel in for their yearly gig with us, and one of them decided to wear jeans worth like $500. Didn't lock them up or even put them IN her bag. They got stolen and the owner was able to borrow a pair of sweatpants from one of the other girls she knew. That's only part of the reason we got the cameras. You had to hope the thief hadn't left early for a bag check to work before the cameras were installed.

Thank god for the cameras! Now I just leave my shit all over my corner because 1) seniority, 2) the owner will/has reviewed cam footage and searched all bags/ lockers on request (for missing money or big items).

We don't have lockers but there are cameras everywhere, so nobody touches anyone else's stuff. I leave my wallet with cash in my bag, never had a problem.

My first club ever, we didn't have lockers. Everyone had these huge footlockers that they just left in the dressing room, or big oversized bags that they left lying round the dressing room. we rarely had more than 20 girls, and it was a very friendly "family" type club, everyone was fairly close. There were always reports of some of the girls stealing shoes, but they were always found in the DR trash can, it was more a gesture of "i hate you" than actual theft.

the most recent club I worked, had no lockers (the dressing room was so tiny!!), they suggested a lock for my bag (already done on my double zip backpack), and there was a housemom that watched everything. I was only there 2 days so i don't know how often things got stolen, though.

I had dirty panties stolen before. The girl probably sold them to a customer or something but wtf. They were raggedy as hell because I used to always go in in gym clothes. I also had a girl almost walk out with my entire bag before, I think she was just drunk.
