    Angry Venting! Customer frustration!!!

Ugh, I just had to get this out since the past month I want to f$xcking rip my hair out over a customer.

This guy starting coming in randomly to my club, since it was slow and I was bored we started talking. Actually, before I sat with him he F!!!ucking basically insinuated I HAD to sit with him...uhhh.

Anyway, we conversed the entire shift I was expecting something out of it since he was boring and WAY too pushy and annoying (not touchy but basically looking for his next gf/wife WTF?) So basically I got no tip for hours of idle chit chat, luckily it was slow. He said he was coming back next tues, okay whatever. Next Tues comes, hes THERE. He's also way too entitled with comments like "You know how I can tell you like me? Because Im not spending mad money" UGH GO AWAY.

    Fast forward next two weeks:

Out sick because of flu...come to hear this MOTHERF#[email protected]@ is asking EVERYDAY for me. First shift back: Asks if I'm coming to sit, I say "Sorry, I'm not feeling it right now" very politely. He gets ignored rest of my shift. Tells my friend/bartender he's "not happy with me whatsoever" OKAY who are you??? He spends NOTHING plus acts entitled.

I gave the owner/housemom/manager a heads up about him because hes a troublemaker and a sh!ttalker about the girls, but then turns around and talks for hours on end wasting their time. I just let her know if she hears anything, it's not me or the other girls...he's just weird!

I absolutely can't stand him. All the girls get along so another one asked me what his deal was and I just gave my personal experience with him and let her know that it was ONLY MY experience! I only give a friendly heads up but never discourage anyone from trying. Ugh, can't stand this guy. When I was out for a smoke break with one of the girls he was hanging around out there as well waiting for me to say something about him! I wish he would go AWAY every shift is awkward because he comes in more and more to "befriend" different girls, what a loser and a time waster/entitled jerk.

I've been there, it sucks. If it's a place you can be rude to customers-especially cheap ones-I'd tell him what you told us. Seriously. You'd be surprised at what you can get away with saying.

Sucks but keep your internal clock/meter goIng at all times after a few 10 min or so with no tip or no accepted offers for VIP then you gotta bounce.

Don't ever sit with someone without getting paid. You should be charging him by the hour. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

I would just tell him straight up "Look this is my place of business, I'm here to make money, if you're not buying dances I'm going to go circulate."
He seems like a cocky asshole anyway.

Also you can't 'expect' anything out of customers. You have to tell them you expect to be tipped for your time, or else bring up dances. Many don't know any better and think you're paid by the club/have the time to waste, many are just assholes trying to get free attention.

I'll call attention to this, and then get out of the thread. Some guys don't know that you can or should be tipped for your time (clothed convo). That's an opportunity for the dancers to educate the customers, especially ones who were never properly told rules on compensation.

I didn't find out about tipping for some time until some dancers on day-shift (early on in my clubbing days) educated me. The night-shift dancers never brought it up (at least not that I remember). On night-shift: it was always 10 min chat, upsell to dances, if unsuccessful then bail. However, once I applied tipping for time with night-shift, there the dancers DID let me know that IF a regular comes in (a reg who goes IMMEDIATELY into multiple dances) that she would need to bail on convo with me (if convo was all I was buying that night) and then come back to me. That only seemed fair and I never had a problem with that. $100-$120/hr for clothed convo versus 300-400/hr for topless dancing, -- so I can see why she would want to bail.

Next time you get a guy like this, just tell that you'd love to hang out with him but that you need to be compensated upfront for your time, since your time is money.

If he doesn't compensate you upfront, tell him that you have to go and to enjoy the rest of his night (killing him with a bit of sweetness).

Idkw the hell these men think? That we're regular chics paying house fee/tip outs to personally like them and not get paid? UGH. THEY HAVE TO GET REMINDED THAT THIS IS A BUSINESS.

Hell, some GIRLS aren't aware that you can charge for your time. Honestly, they've trained customers to not do so, and so now when I get a guy who offers to pay me for my time I'm like "Well hot damn! Thank you kind sir!"
I will say it is very difficult and makes me want to do this: trying to explain to guys that they need to pay me to sit any longer than 10 minutes. THAT is why I generally also pull the sit, ask for dance, leave hustle.

It's almost culture shock for some of them, like they are appalled at the idea... even though it's akin to taking a girl out to dinner on your dime... even a civilian woman isn't going to agree to just hang out with you without you at least buying her drinks & dinner.

Dominic, I keep waiting for you to make a post that gets you flamed by the girls and it hasn't happened. What gem of a customer are you?!

I'm with you there Vyanka and can sympathize even if I personally can't relate to how you feel. Some guys just have a bad case of entitlement. And you're right, the guys should be able to figure it out for themselves. Many do; some don't.

I recall my first trip to a mid-tier club (let's forget my first dive) a few weeks after my eighteenth birthday. A lady wearing a gown (!!) sat down with my friends and me. Shortly after that a friend of hers also sat down with us. To us, the flirty talk made no sense (there was a certain cognitive dissonance about the whole encounter for me), since we were high school seniors, so what would they want with us? They chatted for about 10 minutes, tried to sell dances, then left. They left suddenly and without looking back. It clicked with me then. Some guys can't or won't get it. So your frustration is understandable.

(I did buy dances later that day, just not from those two. It's not as good a Lestat's story though ... maybe close )

    (Edit/Update: )

And to be fair, some things DID change. I was at the tail end of this stage 20 years ago when I started clubbing. But strippers used to do MUCH LONGER stripteases on stage at some old-school clubs. These stage shows were often full costume and took 5 songs or 20 minutes or so. They were very long and erotic. You might search for some of Yoda's old posts on the subject on the blue side (SCJ forum), he describes it probably better than I could. In those days the ladies often made bucketfuls of money (dollar bills) on stage for a VERY LONG stage set. Back then, in some SCs, the women really didn't recirculate on the floor, at least not in places that weren't thinly veiled brothels. Then things started to change and lap dances became more popular so more SCs started to offer them. The downside was shorter tipping for stage shows and now the dancers were instead on the floor with the men, and trying earn $$ from men and trying to avoid sexual harassment from the same men. So you get the good (the $$$) with the bad (the harassment).

Personally, I miss the longer stage sets. : (

Not just that. Some of them want/expect gifts too -- I mean like on the dinner date ... give me a gift ... so every woman in the restaurant can envy me / hate me ... "gift". It's like the guys in the SC have never dated a woman like that, ever.

I agree that some dancers train certain customers like this. Sitting with them for a long time without getting a dime. It's frustrating, bc also someone else can chime into that guy to make money....that's if he's potential.

I was sitting with two dancers that were being paid for time. We were all doing shots. A third dancer invited herself to sit down with us. She wasn't a friend of the other two dancers. I told her that I only pay the girls I invite but she could sit where she wanted. A couple of hours later I get up to leave, tip the two girls I'm with and the extra one wanted a tip as well. It was a slow night but I'm not sure what she thought she would get from wasting her time.

I normally steer far and wide around these discussions of hustle approaches, but a few things jumped out at me in this thread, so...

Journey is a newbie to this board, but I got the impression that she's been dancing at this club for a while. So I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt by assuming that she knows how best to hustle in her club.

By her own admission, she works in a small dive club. She is also from Jersey. When I piece these two facts together, along with what I know about tri-state dives, I'm guessing that the customers in her club require a lengthier sales effort and that tips for company are not uncommon in her club (it is a more common practice in the northeast). So while I understand the perspectives of others on here, I can also see it from hers. I'm guessing that if she used some of the quick strike strategies suggested in this thread, she'd leave her club broke at the end of each shift.

She also mentioned that her club was dead, so I give her credit for being out there and trying anyway. As the old saying goes, there's no money hiding in the dressing room, nor is there any hiding under the seat cushions of chairs set far away from the club's customers. Now should she have sat with him for the whole shift? Probably not, but I can see why she did it. I'm guessing that, given where she is, she is not accustomed to a guy who sits with a stripper all night and gives her nothing. And now all of his follow-up antics are just icing on the whole shit cake.

    Anyway, just my fwiw.

She still should have told him what she expected and wanted before she sat with him for not only one but TWO ENTIRE shifts. Just crazy to me...
