Angry Help! Stripping w. chronic pain

    Hi ladies!

Do any strippers have a chronically inflamed sacrum (tailbone area)? I've been dealing with this for years now as a result of domestic violence and while it typically doesn't affect my escorting, I'm concerned it'll be an issue when I start stripping. The pain varies in intensity but I can't get through pilates classes pain free - ever. I've been to the doctor and he just prescribed me Naproxen...

Anyways, I'd love to hear from strippers how they manage the pain while working.

    Thanks!!

Did this doctor explain some pain management solutions in addition to the prescribed medication? Maybe can you get a second or third opinion?

Sorry to hear your in pain and caused from a person who acted horrific towards you.

Does hot or cold temperatures/compresses help improve the level of pain?

I saw the Dr. 3 years ago. He did an xray and his only advice was to take the Naproxen and said my running causes flare ups. I've run 100 mile races without my sacrum hurting so I don't buy that. My current flare up is from sleeping on the floor lately.

Thanks for your support I live very far away from him now.

Hot compression doesn't help and I haven't tried cold compression (must work up the nerve to try it). I like your suggestion of a 2nd opinion. I'll have health insurance in February and will try to schedule an appointment then!

    Not complite,but first 2 exersises.
    2) i go to the chiropractor everymonth
3)i take healthy fats (coconut, butter, animal fat, fish oil, cod liver oil)
    4) bone broth or gelatin or both.
5)narayan balm. I apply and take hot bath. Also sometimes just put a hot/cold towel on my back for better penetration of the balm.

Turmeric helps with the inflammation from my own lower back injury. I take three pills a day (on top of some ibuprofen if I wake up sore). It has helped me manage my pain more than the ibuprofen by itself did/could.

Icepacks are good for muscle spasms (I found some that Velcro around my waist). I've recently starting using heat to increase the circulation around the site of my injury on the recommendation of a talented local masseuse (also a chronic pain sufferer). I was injured over five years ago, and this is the best pain management plan I've found so far. Hope you find some relief soon, OP!

    Thanks RedMeg!

I'll pick up some tumeric pills!

If you get a bad flare up during your shift, do you just power through it and modify your pole and lap dances a bit to reduce hitting the most painful spots?

OMG, please don't run, that is bad..I'm sorry you have to deal w/this..is it possible you can swim instead? Or do yoga? Ask your Dr., I think those'd be much better.
I do have some chronic arm pain, from a previous stroke. The yoga helps, also I self massage it..maybe massage would help you too? I take Epsom salt hot baths.
Sorry Im not much help here, I prob need to do some more research.

Hi sweetie! I'm also sorry of the cause of your pain, and am so glad you are in a better place.
I wanted to second on the yoga suggestion.. I worked at a studio for years and witnessed miracles with pain management. Alot of CFL players, and people with injuries from all walks of life. Anyhow, I know yours is more specifically injury related- but generally for lower back pain i know it's usually caused by tightness in the hips and hamstrings - everything is connected. Try hitting up a yoga class, and telling the instructor about your back to see if you should be doing any pose modifications. Most studios have a free first class or intro week so you can see if you like it.

    xo Good luck!
