38 now

Huh. So, looking at the poll numbers themselves (and 69 voters is a decent number), I'm actually surprised by how even the spread is. I mean, it isn't totally even by any stretch of the imagination, but I was expecting to see some MFC-type numbers where most girls were 30 or below and ladies over 30-35 were fairly rare in comparison just because 'traditional wisdom' says the majority of performers are young girls. I logically knew that wasn't true, but it's different to actually have the numbers in front of me.
Re: 40+ group--I'd love to see that expanded out, but how far is it worth expanding? 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, and then 50+ might've been good, but it's pretty unusual to see a lady who is properly passed 50 camming. Sure, it happens, but that does seem to be about where the statistical likelihood stops. Also, poll starts looking pretty long, lol.

26-30 category but the other day someone said I looked 24. I'll take it. I'm always getting 22-26. #lovemelanin

I am 28, in real life and on the internet. I'm with superpookie on the hope (all y'all are inspirational, to be honest).

This is a really cool poll! I've always kind of wondered the same thing. It's more spread out than I thought, but in a good way.

I'm 31 going on 32 shortly, and I started camming almost exactly 3 years ago (so age 28, almost 29). At first I listed myself as 27, because the number sounded so good to me. When I turned 30, I updated my cam age to be my real age. Besides the fact that I was very happy to leave me 20s behind irl, I noticed that SM doesn't really have a category for 26-29 year olds. I'm pretty sure "co-ed" stops at 24 or 25, and "mature" starts at 30, but they don't have anything in between. So I figured it was better to get myself into one more category. Since then, I've realized that no one believes that I'm 30, and I want to take my time getting to 40 on cam, so I'll be skipping every other birthday for awhile. No one seems to have noticed that my age hasn't been progressing in a natural manner, lol!

40 here, although no one believes me when I tell them that.

This is genius! I'm always getting guys who think I'm 25-26 but I don't want to list myself as being in my 20s, but I wouldn't mind extending my 30s haha. So skipping every other birthday is amazing! Thanks! haha
I was 28 when I started webcamming. I'm 34 now but stopped updating my age online at 31. Lol. Everyone thinks I'm between 18 and 24 though.
Music make her dance and money, money, money make her smile!
37 and dancing/banking through life. started camming when I was in my late 20's
age is NOT a barrier in this industry, rather a benefit. older, wiser, smarter, no-fucks-given. real men who don't play stupid games and have $$$$ to spend love women with experience to back up who we are
^^^me too, though at 22 no way would I have been psychologically equipped to handle this work. you young'uns are some strong women
no joke here though, for true

I mean, I'd personally rather be sipping martinis on my own private yacht at 65, but I'm pretty okay with camming at 65 too, lol. Actually, maybe that's why I so rarely see ladies over 50 in the industry still--they're busy with their yachts and martinis! *cheers* lol
But seriously--I see no reason older women can't be successful in this industry and I hope it didn't come across this way. I only meant to convey that it seems to be quite rare so far as I can tell. I really hope it's rare because of yacht-retirement, btw.

Totally agree. I was 30 when I found camming (been 24 ever since!) and there's no way I could have handled all this at 18, 19 or probably even in my early 20's. I'm really glad I had a career, long term relationships, finished uni, had some experiences etc. I think all that helped me deal with camming and be really good at it. I also think it's important to get some rap experience of sex and relationships before doing any kind of sex work otherwise it could definitely colour the way you feel about those things. You young un's really are very strong and switched on to have found and made a success of this so young x

I started around age 22. I am now 29, going on 30 soon. Oh man I've been at this forever it seems...

Cheers to this point! I've been sitting here worrying that the bankroll might stop rolling in by the time I hit 30 and that's got me an extra layer of stressed out about getting retirement money in the bank. This makes me feel like I could keep camming indefinitely no problem!
But for real though--worrying about having an 'expiration date' is a burn out lighter like none other for me!
I'm 38 - But get told everyday that I don't look it. And I have thousands of young 20 somethings following me on snapchat and they LOVE older women.
I'm 24, about to be 25 this month. I started camming when I was about 19. I was going to school at the time and riding my bike to work. I have always been really shy around people lol So when My friend told me about working online I loved the idea! I cammed for about 3 years part time and not really taking it too seriously. I got to a point where I didn't know if camming was for me. So I took a break for 3 years. I worked as a waitress making good money. Then I got an office job. I don't know if it is my anxiety or if I just hate working for someone else. But I quit both jobs and now I am back camming and I love it.
I feel like I am learning about this industry all over again. When I was younger I was not looking at this opportunity as a business. Just a Way to get by.
