Default How many weeks do you take off?

I'm making a financial plan for 2016 and will kick my own ass if I don't stick to it.
But I'm kinda stuck on the amount of days off / weeks off that I should take in 2016.

Things are usually black or white with me, I work way too much, or way too little.
But on Januari 1st 2017 I want to have enough £££ to buy a house without a mortgage, so I will need to make a plan.

How do you split your days off to avoid going insane?
Do you work less days a week throughout the year, or do you work 5 days a week and take for for example 8 weeks a year off?

This week I only worked 3 days on cam, and still blasted my high goal.
Do mondays-fridays! Take weekends off or work an extra day if you are bored and don't have plans.

My days off are fairly random. If I'm depressed there's no way I can get on cam, even though getting on there would cheer me up, and I'm still naked and masturbating and not going out, might as well get money for it lol.

I've worked for less than a year, but plan to take weeks off when I travel in the spring/summer.

There's no shame in taking 3-7 days off just because you are burned out, I think. Just make sure you don't exhaust yourself too much. If any clients request are really exhausting, let them know and make a compromise (I have this one domme guy and we get pretty nasty, but if I start the show with 'I'm sorry no penetration today' or 'I really don't want to do that thing today, can we just masturbate?' he understands. I really went off on a tangent there lol, sorry :L)
    Waiting for privates like...

In my case I tend to take Wednesdays and Saturdays off. I work on Sunday early mornings because of the drunk guys, but take the day off after 2:30pm CST no exceptions. Some national holidays are also off for me, but it really depends.

When you're talking about a block of time as long as an entire year, it's probably in the best interest of your sanity not to get too detailed because the first little mis-step will blow the entire plan to hell and possibly leave you feeling pretty defeated.

When it comes to my personal plan for 2016, I first decided, realistically, what I wanted to make in the course of the year and how much I thought I could realistically bring in each week based on my current numbers. I took what I wanted for the year and divided it by 52 (weeks in the year) to get an average weekly amount. I compared that to my average weekly income to see if it was sustainable each week and adjusted up or down accordingly on my goal if it was/wasn't. You can do the same with your average goal for the month.

Once you know what you want for the year and have an idea of what you need to make each week and month, you can start fleshing things out more month-by-month and week-by-week a month or maybe two in advance. That way, if you end up ahead of schedule you don't need to completely redo your goals and if you're behind, well, it's a lot less daunting to catch up with a week-to-week or month-to-month plan then being $10,000 behind in February on a 12 month plan is, yeah?

Example: 2016 goal is $100,000 total (before taxes)
    * $1,925 per week (assuming 52 week calendar) OR approx. $8,335 per month (dividing $100k by 12). <-- Note: I personally prefer to use the weekly system because of variations in the length of a month; ex. $8,335 is easier to make in January with 31 days then in a typical February with 28 days.
    * Now that you know your goal for the week/month, you can plan your schedule for that given time period around appointments or days you need/want off. Ta-da!
    * I personally sketch out a rough plan for the entire month and a more detailed plan for the current week as well as the coming week a few days before it starts. Allows me to play catch up OR take time I need off.

Ta-da! You can now easily factor in your time off. You wanna take off 2 weeks in June for a vacation out of area? Okay, that leaves you 16 days in June to work and make your $8,335 for the month (or whatever) OR you could move some of your goal back to May and a bit forward to July after you get back. Seeing the idea? I find it to be the most flexible strategy for myself anyway...

I need to start scheduling. I am so cavalier with my off days and it always bites my ass in Summer when things are slow. But, I have a lot of lost time to make up for. 2015 has been characterized by life screw ups, health problems and general fuckery. So a better schedule it is.

My off days tend to be Saturday afternoons and Wednesdays sometimes. Though I like to rather have lots of space during the day so that not every day feels like a work day if that makes any sense. That way I can work 7 days without burning out if I need to.

Yeah, I'm just trying to see what is an acceptable amount of days / weeks off a year.
This year I had 2 days a week + 12 full weeks off from work.

But while making my new schedual it seems so much.

See, that's too subjective a question to ask because there is definitely not a right answer and you're gonna burn yourself out on doubts alone if you spend too much time worrying about how much time you took off. Whatever number of days offline that still allows you to meet or exceed your goal is completely fine.

Burn out is what happens when you go too hard both physically and mentally. Going too hard mentally is an easy thing to fall into--if you're dreading going to work, stressed out about it, or guilting yourself about taking a few days off each week, then you're already on that pathway and it makes things that much harder. Breaks are designed to keep you from going totally insane without a designated work schedule. When you work from an office, you can work 40 hours and go home guilt free. When you work from your home, you can work 80 hours and still think you should be online because you're losing money otherwise. It's a nice mentality for a while, but it isn't sustainable.

So how many is enough/too many? Enough that it keeps you comfortably sane, but not so many that you get lazy with your time away from work. You're the only one who can answer for yourself what those numbers look like though.

Yeah, I agree with Issabelle... it's a pretty subjective question. What works for one person could be too much/too little for someone else. Your best bet is to play around with different days off, or to figure out your monetary goal and then work out how many days you need to work weekly or monthly to hit said goal...focusing on achieving a goal and rewarding yourself with time off after hitting it. Some days you will make it in 2 days, some days you will make it in 6. (That's what I do at least)

Honestly, I got at the point where I take how much I want, when the fuck I want.

Even 309438389494948 weeks can be acceptable as long as you have enough to pay your bills and to live decent out of your savings.
