Default Remaining anonymous when suing your club

I thought that was impossible, but the thread in the other work section about the extortion issue wherer he victim was able to remain anonymous gave me a glimpse of hope.

of course I know it's best to call an attorney to consult but I just wanted to hear opinions.

i would be suing for sexual harassment (was asked to have sex in the champagne room, for free at that, by owners brother)

and unfair working conditions or whatever you call that, discrimination based on race, loss of wages and other things.

i don't have proof of course and don't know if it's even worth it...

Dang sorry to hear something like that happened to you. But you are right. The laws vary by area and your situation maybe unique. Only a good, emphasis on good, lawyer can give you the most accurate answer.

Zero proof brings it down to a 'he said, she said' argument, and you're not going to win with that. Now, if you got a bunch of other dancers together to corroborate your claims and file with you, that's a different story -- and that's why most of the successful cases you hear about are class-action lawsuits. If I recall correctly, the filers and other ladies who get in on the class-action after the fact aren't anonymous though. Go ahead and consult with a lawyer for sure, but my hunch is that doing this alone and anonymously isn't going to be worth it unless you're willing to pay a lawyer out of your own pocket and handle not winning a dime back.

I don't think you can stay anonymous for a civil suit like this. Sexual harassment is going to be very difficult to prove in a strip club atmosphere. You will be able to win if you go for back wages and returned house fees, though. You won't be able to remain anonymous as your proof that you worked there will be necessary to file suit.

You may also look into putting together a class action suit with other dancers who work there. Talk to a worker's justice charity before moving forward. They will have free legal help and advice.
