Default I want to dance but...

Okay, I'm from Ohio. And basically I wanted to dance for a while. Thing is I have no money to buy the things I need(garter, bikini, and heels). For a situation like this, it kinda makes it difficult to start doing this. Is there anything you ladies can recommend?

Use a bra/panty set, swimsuit if you don't have that, go to Goodwill or somewhere similar.. check out some of the threads here.

Just find any pair of heels that fit your feet and a decent bra/panty set like whirlez said. You don't need to have everything at first, but at least get some good shoes as soon as you can afford it.

Honestly, it's best to NOT buy a ton of stuff when you're new. Not only is there always the possibility that you'll have spent it all for nothing if you end up not liking dancing, but, as a newbie, you also don't know what works and what doesn't in the club and with the clientele. You may start out thinking you'll only wear black lingerie (that was me!), but once you've actually worked a few shifts and gotten to know the lay of the land, you'll realize that colours and dresses work better on you. Start with what you have and slowly build your stripper wardrobe so you can experiment with different looks until you find what works best for you.

Do you have any friends that dance? Borrowing stuff if they allow is a good way to start! Otherwise, I second a cute bra and panty set or a swimsuit that's not been worn too much and then your comfiest civilian heels until you make enough money to invest in some decent stripper clothes and shoes.

No I don't. But that gave me the idea to ask a friend for heels. I have a decent bra and panty set. Just shoes would be a problem.

Shoes should be the first thing you get, as soon as you can; they're not terribly expensive. Some clubs have women that will come around once a month or so selling costumes, ask the girls and keep an eye out. My best outfit was actually given to me by another dancer when I first started, so you never know how you'll get things.

Where in Ohio? I might be able to recommend some places. If you're close enough and wear a size five, I've got shoes, too.

You can get shoes on line for like 25.00. They are not the newest or nicest styles but get something simple to start.

From what I've seen in Columbus, you can get away without an actual stripper outfit if you have some lingerie or sexy bra and panties and a garter isn't mandatory (that i've seen) but some places you'll need to take tips in your hand or have them lay it on the floor if you can't collect it in your garter. Other places are okay with you collecting it in the straps of thongs. If at all possible I'd try to find some cheap dancer shoes, they're easier to dance in all night and I've noticed clubs seem more strict about footwear. Do you have a nice pair of heels, preferably at least 6 inches?

Have you checked out your local salvation army or st vincent de paul thrift store?

You can find some of the cutest but also cheapest clothes in a thrift store.

Does Ohio even have a St. vincent de paul or is that a mainly michigan thing?

Goodwill has a site online but i think that is for pre-ordering clothes only.

Ebay probably has some good stripper clothes on the cheap too.

Facebook is actually beginning to enable sell groups and people always sell good clothes in there at pretty reasonable prices. Sometimes people give clothes away for free.

I am so sorry that i cant be of more help. Good Luck!

Let me ask you this- if you were offered a job at a medical office and needed scrubs or at the mall and needed to wear, say career separates, in both cases in order to start- how would you acquire these items? Dancing is no different.

Also, if you wear a size 9 you should have an easier time finding dancing shoes online for less than $30- it is usually the small sizes that sell out fast ime.

Ugh, sorry-no one ever has little feet that needs shoes when I can give them away. PM me if you want some clubs I'd recommend, but keep in mind my experience is a few years old except the occasional few days to make sure I'm still good at it lol.

when I started I was wearing black heels from target I had only worn to formal things. In a few weeks you'll have some cash for stuff. You could always by a "dreamgirl" dress, you can find plain ones on ebay for 15 dollars

I find that the best shoe deals are on Ebay. I wear 8" clear $49 on ebay, $65 locally.
