Default Just to be clear, semi-permanent hair color is not supposed to be damaging at all?

I read that it is supposed to be as gentle as shampoo. Is this true? It does not contain any ammonia and only lasts between 4-12 washes. This is OK for me though because I only wash my hair 2x a week, using dry shampoo on the days I do not wash, so I could make it last at least two weeks.

I posted before about the incident I had with hair bleach and how it destroyed and fried my hair. It finally looks normal again but once hair is damaged, it stays that way until it grows out.

I do not want to use any damaging dyes on my hair at all to further damage my hair. I want all my natural hair color to come back without damaging any new growth, so was considering getting a chin length hair cut and dying just the blonde part of my hair darker.

they are a lot more gentle, but because they wash out and need to be re-applied every 2 months ( or less) that can in itself become damaging..unless you keep up with trimming your hair and really condition it. its certainly better than bleaching
