Thumbs down Turned away from club after a long hiatus....what the crap?

Anyone ever been in this situation?

It sucks royally. I've been off and on dancing for 5 years, but never have I been turned away from a club I've already been working at!

Recently I decided to return to dancing after having a vanilla job ... This wasn't the first time I took a long break from this club for other work. A few days ago I went over to the club and was told I needed to renew my license (when last time I didn't have to....they usually just let me work a few shifts until I get it). I thought this odd but got my license anyway. This evening went over there again to see the manager. He told me he didn't need me. That they already have enough girls.

What the fudge? Yes I'm a bit older now but I still got it and I go to the gym nearly every day. So I don't think that's the reason. I'm just really clueless. It's sad because this club was actually great and the thought of finding another club that's decent, going through another audition(s), etc. is a bummer.

I am leaving out details for privacy but I think it's because ...someone doesn't like me. I was never one of those girls that tipped big money for people who are rude.

Is this busy season where you are? It is where I am, so most of the clubs are being pickier about hiring and more demanding of the house girls simply because they can be. If this is the case, you may find it much easier to get hired come January. Of course, it could also be because the hiring manager wasn't a fan of yours -- certainly wouldn't be the first time that a strip club has refused to hire a dancer over personal feelings.

Maybe it's a combination of things. They could be tired of you leaving for periods of time and coming back, they know you don't tip certain staff well (I don't tip rude people big money either) and maybe they did just hire a bunch of new dancers. I think managers generally like dancers who work consistently and are reliable, so maybe they just don't like that you leave for other jobs and come back wanting to work again. I know a dancer who was really inconsistent (showing up late, leaving early, missing shifts) and the managers hated her.

Could you talk to a different manager? And yeah maybe going back after the holidays are over will help. I just started at a new club last Friday and I've heard other dancers complaining about all the new girls they've been hiring. I've seen like 3 girls get fired already and other girls turned away who tried to get hired. Even one of the waitresses was threatened to be fired if she doesn't lose some weight soon. So maybe your club is doing the same right now.

Yeah it is busy season where I'm at. ... I did some 'research' online and already see a few girls posts about the club having stupid politics and firing for no reason. So yeah, it sucks..

I thought about maybe it's because I take year long breaks sometimes but isn't that expected as a stripper? One of my regulars that goes there told me he saw a gal that worked there when I was last working and wondered if I was coming in. We also don't have a schedule so I can't understand why they would care if I'm consistent or not. But thinking about it, I probably should at least go in once a month or something to maintain my "position". I just never thought since I already was hired there that I would need to worry about being turned away.

    ...

Thanks for the response though guys I never thought it could just be a bad time. Like it's so close to Christmas and all. I'll just hold off until after the holidays.

I know which club you're talking about, but I've never been there.

As far as DJ's go, the guys at my club have been there for EONS! I mean 10+ years. In fact, the worse they are, the longer they've been around.

^ It's a decent club but avoid the DJ that works...well most nights...the best nights. If you can fly under his radar (which is rare) you're golden. He really tries to powertrip high earners.

If a dj pisses me off, he suddenly finds himself working the shittiest schedule possible.

    Hmmm... Wonder how that happens

Try going in right after New Years Day.

Some dancers don't re-new their licenses promptly, so the club may be light on girls. Our club even gives one free house incentive because it's such a struggle to schedule licensed dancers,

It's a good time to get your foot in the door.

    SERIOUSLY.
Actually ⅔ of our long-timers are great, but the one is just grumpy all the time. I think he's grumpy because honestly who wants to be a strip club DJ for 15 years, and my friend found out he makes very little money... which she then pointed out is because he's grumpy and nobody wants to tip him more than the $7 minimum.

And amen to not tipping rude staff! I used to try to be nice to him and tipped him a little more but it never did anything, he still got pissy about me having a list up there (which the other DJs refused to let him throw away when he threw out ALL the girls lists, hahaha)... I tipped him $20 a few shifts in an effort to change his attitude, nada. Whatever bro, back to $7-$10 for you.
