    Default Anyone ever have this problem with their webcam?

    I have a Logitech c920. I've had it about a year. I was trying to film clips earlier and the webcam kept fucking up. While it was plugged into the USB port it kept saying there was no webcam detected. I had to keep restarting my laptop to get it to work. It eventually started working but at first it would only record of about 4 seconds before cutting off.

    Has anyone ever had this problem before? Is it time for a new one?

    Mine (the rare occasions I even log on anymore) has been doing that thing where the video will freeze up on me often enough for it to be a pain in my ass. And then I'm eventually kicked out of my chat room. It's pointless for me to even do the uninstall Logitech webcam/reinstall Logitech webcam thing, because I've already done that, and I still have this problem. So I will probably need to buy a new cam one of these days.

    I use to got that problem it seems to be a windows 8 problem, it seem to stop once the updates have finished.

    basically windows 8 doesn't like you moving your usb ports around too much they basically want you to pick that spot for that device mostly webcams and keep it there.

    * What's your Operating System?
    * What program are you using to record?

    I have no idea what an operating system is...
    I'm just using the logitech cam software to record clips.

    Also, sometimes when I start trying to get the cam to work my laptop crashes and I get a blue screen with irl_not_equal_or_less. So now I'm not sure if I just need another laptop.

    I have two c920s and one has just done the same thing...not recognised on two windows 8 laptops or a windows 7. It started off by having sound issues in skype, now a complete dud.

    I mean, Windows (7, 8, 8.1 or 10?), Mac OS X?

    You will probably need to at least do a clean install of the Operating System. However I wouldn't be quick to jump into getting a new computer unless you'd like to, that'd be up to you.

    What are the specifications of that computer you have at the moment?

    Also, if you stream on Streamate, I strongly advise you to use OBS instead of the Flash Media Encoder. It'll also let you record videos at the same time you're streaming with less of a performance impact.

    Thank you.

    Oh it's Windows 8.1.

    How do I install the Operating System if it's already there? I know nothing about computers. Oh yeah my specifications are crap. I definitely need a new laptop. I plan on getting a new one next month.
