    Lightbulb Soft Selling?

    Hey ladies,
So I've decided to give camming another shot as I've recently returned to dancing and I'm already sick of it. I realized I cannot stand being TOUCHED by customers AT ALL. I got approved on SM (again) and will probably start once I get home from my Christmas vacation.
Anyway I was reading some article on another site (ocamgirl I think) about how soft selling works best with camming...not being too aggressive/not mentioning "work" or "money" etc and just letting the customers and money come to you...

This is almost the opposite of my approach in the club. While I'm (usually) friendly and flirty, I'm also very aggressive and try to get into their wallets asap. I will remind them that I'm there to be paid and I will act greedy. If they don't spend I get an attitude.

Is it true that soft selling = $$$ in the cam world? If so I'll definitely have to adjust my style/hustle.

Let me know what you all think. Thanks!

Both ways can work. Usually the best approach is to be you, with a little 'persona' thrown in there to protect privacy and give yourself a backstory, or appeal to a target market etc. Some ladies are known (and worshipped) for their ball busting take no prisoners approach, while others appeal more to guys who are attracted to the girl next door. Let your skills gained from stripping inform you and strengthen what you can offer, but don't let it be ALL you are to the extent it interferes with your ability to take customers at their own level. Just see where it takes you. Usually your 'persona' finds you, much like your niche

I'm pretty much a hard seller, but I think I get away with it since I'm blunt and have a strong a type personality.

I soft sell, never ask for shows, for instance, but I still mention money and working. There's no reason to pretend like your there out of the goodness of your heart.

My advice is just turn on your cam, try your hustle style, and see if it works. This is such an individualized question.
I, like You come from a hard sell, both in stripping, and in my corporate sales job, where I was top salesperson.
It never worked for me on cam. It's actually the opposite.....I sit there, quietly smile, and I have guys throwing money at me. I don't even show my eyes, either.
    Go figure.

I used to be really embarrassed to ask for shows when I first started out and when I started doing it I definitely started making more money.

The hard sell doesn't really seem to be doing much for me lately though so I'm going to try soft selling for a week or so and see if it's a better option.

Everyone is different. Some girls are quick to be like Take me private you fucking worm! And dudes are like omg I better take her private ! And some girls really do act like they're there because they're just so horny no man can satisfy them! Mmmm. Yes bb.

But it really just depends on you. What you're comfortable with and the customers you draw in. I like to think I'm a soft sell kind of person, but there have been lots of times I tell them Hey, if you've been sitting here 5+ minutes and haven't tipped or talked you need to shit or get off the pot. If you weren't being entertained you wouldn't have stuck around this long, and I'm an entertainer, and you're being entertained. Usually it works.

    Hello,

I did some camming a couple years ago, SM, it was a quite good experience. soft selling works with a proper hustle strategy... make them want a private with you. I used to lure them to privates because I was looking "desperate to cum".. that did work back then. Use social media, keep and update twitter, fb, insta and it will help you sell more.

besides SM there are other sites more profitables, like cam4 you get coins by everyone. I know this girl who cams on that site and its quite easy for her to collect $200 per work shift of 2-3 hours (shes quite popular btw).

I'm not camming anymore but just wanted to share it.

    good luck

I usually try to do soft selling to the customers, but when they point out my prices, waste my time and become waayyy to nice in freechat or they say "i wanna see before I PAY" , it makes me so eager to let them KNOW i am doing my job here and they clearly must pay to get anything, even my attention.

When i first started, I did things to simply make money. I pretended to be something I wasn't. Guys could see through me and see that i was not very comfortable with what I doing. It wasn't until I went back into camming this year, I finally saw that I was more of a dominant woman and could do shows without penetration. This took several tries to understand what hustle was for me. Let's just say that you just try a hustle you're comfortable with at first and let your camming persona come to you. I would say I'm a soft seller kind of girl even though I'm dominant. I hate mentioning money, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. This isn't a one size fits all kind of work. There's so many styles the spectrum is super wide!

I think I'm somewhere in the middle. I don't like yell at guys for not tipping but I almost always try to encourage people to take me private. "what kind of fun are you looking for tonight?" I'm a submissive so if a known dominant guy comes in I ask how I can please him in exclusive. I'm not pushy I don't usually refer to it as my job or as work but at the same time I make it clear I want to play and that I don't play in free chat.

When I first started cam, I was a soft seller and I did alright. I paid a lot of attention to other aspects like working on my dirty talk, lighting and vids/pics. I really avoided talking about money and just hoped for the best. That was on SM. Now, I mostly cam on MFC. My hustle has changed to where I remind guys I have vids, pics and my website subscription to sell. I remind them of my countdown, my interactive toys and I act like a spoiled princess if I don't get my way. Sometimes being demanding works really well and other days just chilling works best. I can tell the vibe of my room and just work with it using intuition. If no money is rolling in I put up a timer letting them know I will leave after it elapses. That almost always works to get them tipping.

Hyori girl, you are preaching the TRUTH. This is what works for me 2.. sometimes hanging out makes the most, other days I have to be like "Listen you idiotic motherfuckers. Tip me or death." usually works.

I use a soft sell approach because when I act like Hyori people just call me a bitch and leave. (I am very jealous that her hard ass approach works for her because my natural personality is more like FUCKING TIP LOSERS than "gentle soul" but it I fall flat on my face with it unfortunately.)

    My soft sell style is:

    - I use the phrase "let's play" a lot as opposed to asking for a private/exclusive show on SM. "Are you looking to play tonight?" "Mmm that sounds good, let's play!" They know what you're talking about but it sounds a lot sexier and inviting than a hard hit for the wallet. Honestly this was a game changer for my particular hustle.

    - If they ASK about what I do in private/exclusive, I tell them but I keep it focused on their desires. eg. "Private is a strip tease and cumshow, but if you want to explore a specific kink or fetish, or have me all to yourself, exclusive is the way to go. What are you into?" Open ended questions are great as long as you don't spend 20 years discussing their fetish. I let them have 1-2 messages describing what they like and then I go to "Mmm sounds good, let's play!"

    - If someone asks if I've cum yet today, I always say no. These guys have a 100% history of taking me private/exclusive immediately to be the guy who made me cum.

If I think of others I'll post them.

I never mention money, but I ALWAYS ask them what they are in the mood for today. If they can't answer the question and direct their conversation to a private show then I have no more time for them and ignore them until they leave. I have no time for chit chat or time wasters.

Keep us updated on how camming goes for you, Wednesday!

When I dabbled in camming a couple of years ago, I was disappointed to discover a boundary I didn't know I had: touching myself on camera felt like far more of a crossed line than a customer touching me in the club (disclaimer: I've never worked in a club where breast / ass / pussy touching was allowed, so that might be part of it). I thought that touching myself would just feel like, well, touching myself. But it actually felt like I was letting customers into a very personal part of my sexuality. Which is something I'd never, ever felt while dancing.

Just speaking up based on my own experience! Everyone has different niches in the sex industry. Maybe this is yours!

I will definitely keep y'all updated! I wish I could find a real "no contact" club. My current club is technically no contact but many girls just move touching into the VIP. Customers grab on the second the manager walks out (after explaining they aren't allowed to touch..ugh.) At this point I'd rather touch myself than have them touch me, but we'll see how it goes!

It sounds like camming is a completely different animal than stripping. I'm actually relieved so many use soft selling approaches...While being aggressive in the club definitely works, my real personality is much more laid back. Of course I'll mix it up and see what works best. Thanks for all the feedback ladies! <3

I like a very soft sell, personally. If I can help it at all, I never mention money. I try not to mention spending, buying, payment, or any similar terminology, although sometimes it's unavoidable. I really enjoy providing the illusion that we're both there for fun, and I want my guys to melt into an experience where they forget they're paying for my time. Even in free chat, I don't refuse to give freebies because I haven't been paid - I just act like that's something I wouldn't do in a public room, period. The downside is that there's not much I do in free chat for tips, and I make a horrible findomme. The upside is that a lot of my reviews rave about how I'm very genuine and obviously love doing this.
