    Duh Facebook accidental 'like'

I accidentally liked a photo with the ex in it. Ahhh! I don't want him getting the wrong idea. I was trying to hit the back arrow and accidently hit like. Well I immediately unliked it. But now I'm wondering did the profile the pic was on (and the hundreds Of other people who liked the photo) get a notification? Or since I liked then unliked quickly they didn't get notified. FML!!! Curses for Facebook @$&$!!!!!!

have you accidentally like someone's photo or post? Or have you gotten a 'like' notification and noticed it was unliked?

I deleted my FB for various reason but people who also liked the picture are not going to be notified. If anybody is notified it will be the people tagged in the picture/person who posted the pic. You could always talk to a friend and do it again on their page, quickly unlike. And see if they get a notification.

Yeah I blocked the ex so he wouldn't stalk my profile (and I wouldn't be tempted to look at his out of curiosity or boredom or whatever) but his family members added me as friend and I wish I could rewind time and add no one but mark zuckerberg. I saw his pic - a group Photo with him in it - on his family members profile. If I could delete his family from my friends unnoticed I would but damn Facebook will send them back to the 'friends you may know' then they'll definitely know I unfriended them.

Thanks for that idea. I will test out the like/unlike/notificAtion with a friend to get a better idea of exactly how it works.

lol I totally get it. I've never done that on Facebook but on twitter from my phone when I tried to extend a tweet conversation. I clicked on the wrong icon, then like you I quickly 'unliked' the tweet. Oops! It kind of teaches you a lesson not to stalk. I freaked out at first, then figured why would I care if he knew? I've been in a long-term relationship for many years. I also check out other old friends and other people besides him simply out of curiosity.

Anyway I heard if you like and unlike really fast, most likely the person won't receive a notification. I know for twitter you can sign up for email notifications if someone follows you, but I'm not sure about liking tweets. I would go with LeggingsQueen advice and ask a friend to test the like notifications out. Better yet, open a fake account if you don't have one and test it out yourself. Obviously it's better not to stalk at all but if you do (hey, we're only human), use your fake account instead. That way if you do something stupid, he'll have no idea who you are...you're tracks are covered.

I think I've been notified when I posted a comment and someone else liked it.

Yeah i used to go to his family's place during holidays. They are really nice and semi normal. Unlike my family who act like judgemental psychos.

But I happen to see a pic with him in it posted by his family member. I was being nosy. The pic had hundreds of likes and out of boredom and curiosity I clicked the button to see all the people who liked the photo. As I try to go back and exit out I end up accidentally hitting like. Then unliked a second later once I realized my error.

I actually have him blocked on facebook and Instagram so I don't have to see his postings and he can't stalk mine. But his family though I still see their posts and sometimes he's in pictures they post. I wish I never added them as friends on Facebook so I wouldn't have to see but if I unfriend or block them they will know and probably be offended.

I'm just never clicking on anything and I should be safe. Lesson learned.

Hmmmm. The fake account sounds interesting. Just to test privacy features. I wouldn't use to stalk him though that would drive me insane and set me back and waste my time.

I think because you unliked it they won't get a notification. I've done this before and it seemed to work out that way if I recall correctly. I could be wrong though. Don't get too worked up, this happens a lot with smartphones.

I'm the queen of accidental likes. Most of mine seem to be inappropriate things that no one should like but for some reason that's just my luck. I scroll through my news feed and accidentally hit like on things. I'm pretty sure there isn't any notifications if you unlike it immediately. And yes the only people that would get notified are the people tagged and the OP of the picture.

they will get a notification, even if you unlike it..the only way they wont is if you immediately block them unfortunately
