Default Help and major advice needed

    Hi girls,

I have not danced in awhile and have gained some weight. I am about 5 foot 2 inches and probably weigh close to 150 pounds. Do you think that I should lose about 20 pounds before auditioning at the nearest club? That is going to take ALOT of time and dedication and I REALLY need the money right now. There are also some logistical things I need help with (I dont even have dance wear or a car LONG STORY but first I need to know if you think I would get rejected if I auditioned. I have been dancing a long time at some good places all over the country but I weighed 120 then. Also, this club is nude so it would make it even worse if I didn't get hired. Plus its going to be an expense to get there, as there is no bus. The way this club works is that after the audition they have you go home and wait a few days and then put you on schedule which I am not used to. They said that they have clothing to audition in but if I did get hired I would have to get dance wear and I have no money right now (so pathetic for a dancer like me to have nothing to show for all that work)and I do not even know the websites to order from. I'm basically writing for help with some kind of game plan to get back to work ASAP. without being embarrased of course.

So, I returned to dancing at roughly the same weight as you are, and I know exactly how you feel. I was also 25 in a club full of 19 year old beauty queens lol. Here's the thing: if you look nice (hair, makeuo, etc), have a great attitude and confidence (even if u fake it til u make it!) most clubs will hire you even if u feel overweight. I worked with curvy dancers that made bank and were gorgeous. Dancing is the best workout ever- i was back to my regular 115 within 2 months. I'm now 32, and have a better body than I did at 21. As for outfits, it depends on the club but honestly if you go to a goodwill or salvation army, you can usually find short sexy dresses (or tops that are just long enough for a club dress hehe) for $3-$4. I get tons of compliments on my thrift store dancewear. It would help to know what city you're in, as my experience is mainly with clubs in the north east. Messsge me if you'd like more help or advice, I hope this helps some! Good luck babe- sounds like ur in a tough sitch and I know how scary that can be. You got this, try not to worry. Smile, have fun with the audition (or look like u are!) and it should be just fine!

I can't really tell you without pics but it's worth a shot. Do you have any of your old customers from when you used to dance? Maybe they could help you out?

Without knowing how you carry your weight or what the club is like, it is hard to say. If you are well proportioned, you stand a good chance of getting hired. If you have the unfortunate apple shape, it is going to be harder. If it is a dive bar, it will be easier to get hired than a higher end place, obviously.

Do you think you are going to be the biggest girl there? All hustling tips aside, if you carry your weight in a way that is not flattering (like all in your stomach), it is going to be psychologically challenging to look around at other girls with much more flattering bodies on your shift if you do get hired if you don't carry weight in a way that is flattering. I have seen girls gain tons of weight from drinking like fish at the club and it all goes to their tits and ass and they keep making money. I have seen girls who were clearly sized 14-16 but really well proportioned make money on shifts where most of the girls were twigs. I have also seen girls who gain weight and look more apple shaped with their weight going to their belly and it hurt their money. You have to look in the mirror, be honest with yourself, and decide if YOU think you are going to be able to pull it off. I have been the biggest girl in the club before with an unflattering shape and IT SUCKED!!!!! My weight was all over the place when I was dancing and when it was on the higher end, I felt like total shit. I still made money and I had a good hustle, but it was really fucking hard on me.
