Default Retired dancer, missing the thrills

Hi all; I stopped dancing 4 years ago after I achieved the goals I set to myself when I did my very first audition; I danced 4 years topless and then 8 years nude. I am happy and I had a good professional and personal development; still, sometimes I do miss the good stripper days, I wonder if anybody has experienced something like this.

I retired in September 2012. I danced a little over two years, topless and nude. I'm a Paramedic now and I'm pregnant so I am on light duty. I've reached a point as a Paramedic where I am as burned out (if not more) than I was dancing. I have been thinking of returning to dancing after the baby is born since I don't want to continue being a Paramedic. I'm not sure what I will do. So yes, I understand.

We have some great threads on here about dancing-related nostalgia...

Thanks, Laurisa; I worked in healthcare as well and I agree: burn out can be way worse than stripping. Have you tried to wrk on clinical reserch? I reckon it is though, but I think it is not thougher than EMS.

Hi there. No, I have not gotten into clinical research. It sounds interesting though.

Hi, Laurisa; I'd suggest to take a look into the contract research organizations webpages; you have a helthcare background that is always welcome, and there are various roles that you may fill while gaining experience for going up the ranks. Pay is decent and usually there are no injury risks.

I haven't danced for a little over 2 years. I always danced part time alongside a full time "vanilla" job, but once I returned to college it became too much to handle. Often, a song will play on the radio that I used to dance to and it will take me back. New songs I will imagine a stage set to. I miss getting all dolled up, dancing onstage, high heels, and most of all, the extra spending money. I fantasize about going back for my last "hoorah".

Actually, last night I dolled up and I think I'd be a little bit rusty but still desirable; if replies such as the one from DancingDaisy keep coming I might start looking for a nude club nearby and have a one-night-only, just-for-fun comeback.

I can relate to this. I started dancing basically at 20, and stopped at about 28, then did burlesque striptease and private pole events until 30. Now, I'm 32, and I miss dancing. I have a "normal" job and a family and a house, and I don't need money. I've decided to go back to dancing part time. I feel like we only get one life, and if I wait too long, I won't be able to dance anymore. I don't want to regret not dancing while I had the "means to", so to speak. I'm actually planning my return for this weekend. I'm nervous and excited.
