MANY MEN WANTED TO LAY ME DOWN, BUT FEW WANTED TO LIFT ME UP
-Eartha Kitt

While throwing rocks is not the answer, there is a reasonable question in this story. Under what circumstances is police pursuit proper? I would say a high speed pursuit in a vehicles is not proper. The risk to the public far outweighs any possible good from capturing the suspect. Foot pursuits are less risky, but I know enough about gun safety to know that you cannot be shooting on the run and hoping to hit your target. So, I would say no police pursuit if shots are being fired or the officer is contemplating firing his weapon. The point here is, the police need a pursuit policy and they need to train officers on how to pursue.
