    Default Pure Romance

What is our thoughts on pure romance? I've given them tons of my money. Love the toys, love the coochie wash. My consultant says we can do a virtual party if any ladies are interested, or maybe want to get set up as consultants ourselves. Just putting feelers out.

Also, I would like to know how a virtual sex toy party works? Do you livestream it or make a video? Can you explain more?

I'm done with MLM but thanks anyways.

I tried various companies like Passion Parties and even an independently run one where I signed up directly under the CEO herself and neither worked out. I ended up just getting a toy store white label and getting a wholesale account with them for use at in-person parties. The parties still weren't doing so well and it was becoming an expensive pain in the ass to keep the "party kit" and catalogs current so now I only sell the toys online. So I guess I'm just an affiliate marketer now but at least it doesn't cost anything to do that (other than domain fees if you have it at your own domain).

A lot of these type of companies are marketed to "your first ever sex toy ever" and "buy stuff to spice up the bedroom with your partner". It's hard to believe this "in person" market still exists outside of a brick-and-mortar location given how many websites sell adult toys or review them.

There are SO MANY websites and toy reviews online, it makes the market very competitive. I receive a free toy every time I order off certain sites; most of the time the free toy is "first sex toy ever" quality. I have about 15 years experience with the subject

I find some affiliate marketing with toys to be beneficial for me, over the years. I don't put TOO much effort into this, a lot of the time I am buying toys or someone buying toys for me thru an affiliate link

Yeah, I had tried selling Avon some years ago, and it turned out to be a big pain in the ass. Having to pay for all those damn brochures, bags, etc., hoping that people place some orders each campaign. And then I ended up owing Avon money, which sucked.

Yup, I did Mary Kay for a while and wasn't getting enough orders to even qualify for the "discount" so if someone just wanted to buy some eyeliner I didn't make any money on it because I couldn't afford to keep inventory on hand and people didn't want to pay shipping anyways so it was hard to make sales. Also, the feminist in me hated their dress code. Eff you I'm not wearing a skirt, nylons, and closed-toed shoes that's not how I roll. How is this "empowering women"??

I heard that Pure Romance consultants who don't wish to do home parties can opt to do an online party. I'm not sure exactly what that means. If it means broadcasting live video (from your webcam) to a group of people who you've invited? I've seen Facebook pages and I think even Facebook "events" about some of these parties...but wasn't sure if it meant the person was inviting me to a party at a LOCAL location or if it's actually online. I'm really curious about that. Today I spent a lot of time looking up some of these sales companies, and two of them that I'm considering are Scentsy and SimplyFun (selling educational products and games for kids).

I think virtual parties are they just send everyone a link to purchase stuff from the consultant's store during a certain time frame and the "hostess" gets rewards based on how much is sold for that party. At least that's how it works for most I've been invited to for other companies.

The only thing I can say about Scentsy is that some people (myself included) are very sensitive to scented products like perfumes, scented candles, and oils. I have to keep declining invitations to my friend's Scentsy parties because if I went to one, I would come back with a massive migraine. Granted, you have an even smaller target market with SimplyFun (parents of small children), but at least you know who to market to. Not everyone with scent sensitivities (scentsitivities?? lol) makes that common knowledge. I had to eventually tell my friend why I keep declining her invitations and that it wasn't because I'm just avoiding her lol.

^^ ugh yes! I can get a migraine if Im in a mall with a Lush in it! I have real issues shopping in Department stores here in Europe because of all the perfume and I struggle to go into most of the stores that sell make up because there is always so much perfume in them as well! I go to a huge sephora in Barcelona almost exclusively because there isnt a huge wall of scent that smacks me in the face when I walk in!

As far as these sex toy "parties" arent they just ponzi schemes? You put in a ton of your time and money to grow a business that even at its best is not going to really go anywhere! I prefer camming and getting paid by the minute thanks!

It's true. The sex toy parties aren't nearly as lucrative as they make them out to be. The people who make the most money there are the owners of the companies because they're getting you to buy all their shit for your party kits and hostess gifts. Most people attend those parties to have fun and giggle with their friends about "naughty things" but most of them won't buy at the party, they prefer to buy online where it's more discrete. That's why I only sell sex toys through a toy store white label online now. No overhead other than domain if you choose to use your own, and no inventory or kits to buy.

Tsani, I've thought about doing that. Your idea seems really smart. I've always wanted a sex toy business, but none of the overhead or annoying recruiting. And yes, most women will be discrete about purchases, vs. buying stuff in front of friends. Just wondering if you do a ton of online marketing and spend money on that? I see direct selling stuff that appeals to me, because I like the products, but being stuck with stuff that doesn't sell is a different story. And you can't be an active seller of those products and sell on ebay, I've noticed.

I don't spend any money on marketing my online toy store, but I also don't make many sales lol. It helps to be in the adult business though because you can make sales that way. I have a few different online toy stores. One of them to market to the cam community that's linked to my camconcierge.com website and one for my vanilla friends. I have a facebook page for that one and it's got quite a few "likes" but no sales from there so far. But I'm going to try "boosting" my posts sometime, maybe when I've got a sale going and see if that helps conversion rates. You can boost a post from a fb page for as little as $5 so I don't see it as much of a risk.

And yes I totally want to start selling on ebay. Not necessarily sex toys but I need to figure that site out because I often find really good thrift store stuff that I could sell for way more online.
