I want to try out being a stripper but I am terrified of getting on stage!!! Are there any clubs that would let me only do lap dances? Thank you for the advice!

Stage is silly, really. Definitely not something to lose sleep over. If you're a hustler, it's just an advertisement for lapdances. I spend 80% of my stage shows sitting on the rail talking to / charming prospective buyers, and 20% of my stage shows walking around the pole all sexylike. I always have a giggle whenever I go up after someone who's especially entertaining on stage, since my style is so different. But I just laugh it off and do what I do.
If your only qualm is the stage aspect, you're in the minority. Most women are nervous about the one-on-one stuff.
What terrifies you about being on stage? It's probably not nearly as nerve-wracking as you're imagining.
I've always been afraid to do anything in front of a group. Not to mention, I'm a huge klutz! I'm afraid I'll take a tumble or hurt myself. I'm a big flirt and outgoing naturally so I think that's easing my nervousnous for the one on one stuff.
Thank you for the reply. Hearing from you does ease my fear!
There are some clubs where stage shows are impressive...I can understand your fears. In my extensive experience, the vast majority of women on stage are fairly yawn-worthy (myself included). I currently work in a city that's notorious / famous for having incredible stage shows, and I make plenty of money without doing much. Just have a sense of humor about it. Smile. Walk around the pole slowly and confidently. Whip some clothes off. Pose in sexy positions. Approach customers at your stage, and bend / sit down in front of them. Say hello. Smile. Touch your body. Thank them for tipping you. Etc.
To this day, I still get a bit nervous whenever I have to go up in front of a larger group. Stage just isn't my thing, and I don't do anything impressive enough on stage to hold the attention of 10+ people at my rail. I much prefer only having 2-5 people to entertain at a time. But I just laugh it off, go up there, and do my thing. I'm confident in how I make my money (selling dances), and I don't make my money on stage, so, whatevsies. Ya know? If dances are your thing, focus on connecting with 1-2 people who stay to watch your show, and focus on selling them a dance while you're on stage. Your goal is to have dances lined up before you've even finished your set!
I'm sure if you explain to the manager/DJ that you are too nervous and if he could give you a couple of shifts to get acclimated, he would understand. A tip for their understanding would also go a long way.

You don't have anything to be worried about buuuut there are some clubs that let you not do stage. I've worked in a couple where they would add an extra 10-20 bucks to your house fee if you didn't do stage.
I actually tried to do this on my first night of dancing but the manager didn't let me. He said this is something they usually did for "out of shape" dancers who made their money from their regulars but the club didn't necessarily want them on the stage. Kind of rude, I know, but eventually when I went up and it was no big deal. I ended up loving being on stage!

Some clubs let you pay off stage, or you can tip the dj extra.

Tons will let you skip stage entirely! Just go check a few out!

I work at a lap dance club only. It's topless/g string club. Basically chat with guys and get them to buy dances from you.
I get nervous dancing on stage too. My arms usually give out, and the few tricks I know often look less than graceful. I fell off the stage one of the first times I danced on stage, and I still occasionally knock customers' drinks off the edge and onto the floor because I'm so lanky. But the customers don't care, and many of them find this endearing. I think the most important things you can do on stage is have a good personality and point your toes.
By the way, OP, I have a horrendous fear of public speaking (panic attacks!), but stage has never been a problem for me (surprisingly). You might also be surprised!

I try to tip the dj to keep me off stage at any club i work at, some clubs for whatever reason won't let u pay to be off the stage and that sucks.
Not sure where you're located, but here in Chicago there are plenty of "lingerie bars" mostly around O'hare airport that have no stages, it's just a lap dance hustle wearing whatever you want but pantyhose are mandatory....
I'm in the same boat, been wanting to travel for work, but can't find any similar joints outside Chicago, lol/fml!
Anyways, if you want more specific info about working at these places just pm me...
I never would've become a dancer if not for the "lingerie bars" here cuz i never warmed up to the pole/stage aspect, but now it's been almost a decade of doing nothing but private dance hustling, which I'm totally cool with yet i can't find work anywhere else cuz noone will let me tip out of stage rotation![]()
