    Thumbs down Doubles

There have been many times when other dancers butt into my conversation with a customer and try to talk them into doing a double. This is so irritating to me!
It was the worst the last time I worked. Another dancer spent half of a song DURING A PRIVATE in the customers face, trying to talk him into doing a double during the next song. The customer kept saying "maybe next time", and she stayed in his face until the song was over saying "the next song?... so you want me to stay for the next song?"

Like damn, back off of my hustle!!

I need some advice on how to deal with this. I'm selfish and I never want to do doubles, but I can't really say that....

Do they literally just walk up to you while you're sitting and chatting or dancing with a customer? If so, you need to be WAY more assertive or else they'll keep doing it to you. Given that this has happened to you many times (!!!!!), as soon as a dancer walks up to you while you're with a customer, smile sweetly and tell her that you don't want anymore company but will go find her if you change your mind. Then use your body to shut her out of the conversation, ideally turning your back to her or whatever works with how everyone is positioned.

If it's the same dancer or two that keep doing this to you, it might be worthwhile to tell them to back off when there isn't a customer around. It's an aggressive approach for sure, and I wouldn't recommend it if the dancer(s) are the fighting type, but you really can't let your fellow dancers walk all over you like this. No one else is going to stand up for you in the club, and they will only try to get away with more and more if you keep letting it happen.

Is this a club where dancers regularly team up? If so, you need to start actively looking for a hustle buddy. The customers will expect the girls to be working in teams. This is a good way to make more money, especially if customers are there in groups. Approaching a table with 1 or 2 other girls will help keep everyone entertained and you don't have to worry about girls messing with your hustle.

Otherwise, I agree with Shanna Dior, and you need to just get more aggressive with dancers trying to mooch off your sales efforts.

I work at a really small club, when 5 girls are there it feels like too many. However, we all support each other and everyone is really nice to one another. This makes me feel really uncomfortable to act aggressive towards another girl, especially after building up a work persona as a young, sweet, shy girl. In reality, I'm none of the above, but I can pull it off really well in the workplace. O

I appreciate your advice. I think the next time I'll say "I'll come find you if we decide we want more company." while I continue to shut her out of the conversation.

Like I said, everyone gets along really well but I prefer to keep to myself because I'm kind of a bitch.

FUCK THAT. Tell her "were fine, thanks" and do a move like Shanna said where she feels completely blown off..cause that's the point.

Aren't you moving soon anyway? Hopefully you won't have to deal with this type of shit at your new place but in the meantime you really do have to be more assertive (not aggressive) she is being aggressive towards you. You are at work to make money, not friends. While I can appreciate that you have a positive work environment you should also keep in mind that this can make your customer feel very uncomfortable as well and make him not want to buy multiples from you.

Your work persona is for customers, not for dancers. You have to be assertive and stand up for yourself with your fellow dancers, especially with those who try to walk all over you like the ones in this club.
