I currently live in the UK, but I have been looking to move to Malta. I want to continue working there as a cam model, but I am worried that my residency application will be rejected due to the nature of the work I do. Camming isn’t illegal there (definitely couldn’t find any laws against it!) and there are Maltese cam girls (and guys), but part of applying as self-employed to get residency is filling a form which includes what my ‘trade or profession' and 'main activity of business' is. (ETC Self-Employment Form.) I wouldn't want to risk lying and maybe putting something like, ‘blogger’ or ‘on-line tech support’ in case they ask for proof. I’m just looking for advice from anyone who does this line of work and has moved to a different country where they had to apply for residency and state what they do. Did you declare honestly what you do or did you bend the truth? I honestly don’t feel it should be an issue what you do as long as it’s not illegal and you’re paying tax, but hey ho. I got diagnosed with SAD which is why I’m looking to move out of the UK and somewhere warmer. Malta seems so ideal for me, but this is causing me a bit of anxiety. The thing is that in order to apply for residency, I do need a rental agreement and being approved or rejected can take months there I've read, so it would suck if I was rejected and grew to really love the place. I'm not sure if it's even worth a shot? Any advice or experiences shared would be appreciated.
