Default Toning up safely after BA

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a little while and wanted to finally come out of the woodwork and post a question for you all. I just got my BA three weeks ago and am kind of sad about how skinnyfat the rest of me looks in comparison. Of course, the firmness of the new boobs accentuates lack of tone!

I used to do weighted squats and lunges to firm up my butt, which is the main area that needs work. I won't be lifting weights for a while, though I'm ordering a set of ankle weights to use. Does anyone know of some good butt-toning exercises to do post-BA - ones that will not work the chest muscles at all? I thought it would be good to get input from ladies who have gone through the same thing and found solid ways to work out without compromising their surgery results. Thank you in advance!

Hip thrusts on the leg extension machine? That way you don't have to carry around plates and a bar.

    Don't underestimate bodyweight stuff too!

But please please please don't do anything without doctor's approval. I've heard too many horror stories about girls who went back to lifting too soon.

I don't belong to a gym and tend to do everything at home. But thanks! And yeah I definitely won't do anything until the doctor clears it. My next post op is in a week and I fully expect him to pronounce me ready to work out again, but don't want to jump the gun as I've invested too much money in these babies for any mishaps.

Home is tough, since dumbbells are the go-to for home weights (and dumbbells are the most versatile, imo). Perhaps just do many reps of bodyweight exercises that focus primarily on the glutes, like different variations of glute bridges, bodyweight hip thrusts, donkey kicks, etc till you're dead. It's better than nothing. Side lying raises (I think that's what you call them) are great for upper glutes too and don't put pressue on your chest.

Those sound like good exercises. I ordered 5-lb ankle weights and that should also kick up the intensity quite a bit.

I usually tell my patients to avoid any arm/shoulder/chest work for at least 6 weeks, and any other exercise (besides walking) for at least 2 weeks. I think doing some of the home activities listed above or low impact workouts is fine after 2 weeks, so long as you don't stress the chest and shoulders at all. This especially true of subpectoral (below the muscle) implants, where there is a layer of fascia/muscle that is relatively weak and could potential open if stressed too soon. That said, moving and gently stretching the shoulders and chest is fine and should be done to prevent soreness, stiffness, excessive scar formation, etc.

I read your other thread, thanks so much for responding! Mine are below the muscle and I'm being extra careful. I'm also pretty sure that lower body workouts are fine at this point, but I'm making myself wait until my post-op in a couple days to get the official ok from my doctor.
