Default bdsm and vids- give me the harsh truth please

    Hi,

I decided I want to work as a Domme once I move for school (currently I am an independent escort and have fetish experience as a PSO and webcam and some light in person work) and am looking for a good opportunity to train. I spoke with some guy over the phone who makes and sells bdsm vids/clips. While it sounds like a good chance to learn the ropes, I'm hesitant about being on camera. I've done webcam and know for sure some of my vids are out there (without my consent) so I kinda figure, hey why not? I just want to make sure A) is it a good idea? and B)am I being paid fairly...he said he pays $100 per hour and shoots will last about 3-4 hours. He also said that after the first 3 shoots I can choose to opt out of being paid cash that day and sign a contract to make $ off the vids that sell, 30%. On one hand, I think it would be good to have a brand, experience, etc for when I do work as a Domme...on the other hand, am I being an idiot? I'm feeling out of my element here. Any and all advice/comments welcome.

Always get cash up front when you're shooting for someone else
Always take a friend to the first shoot with a new photographer or videographer, regardless of how nice he is. It can be a female friend, but take someone. If he says that is "unprofessional" laugh and ask him if he imagines he is professional? If he continues to have a problem, cut him off
Take a look at samples of his work and contact one of his models (not someone he tells you to contact) unless he is verifiably working for a top 5 brand (10 bucks says he isn't)
Read the model release carefully. If there is no model release, walk out
Don't let him set your fee. You set it. Tell him, $400 for a 4 hour minimum shoot, etc. 4 hours is a "half day" and that is many model's smallest segment of time.
if you want to do branding and marketing, sell your own work. How are you going to determine if you've been paid 30%? Are you going to audit his books? Get cash up front.
