    Default Making it rain

What do you dancers feel about making it rain?

I personally like making it rain, and I do make it rain sometimes. If I really like a girl I'll put anywhere from $200 to $300 on stage. I have heard other customers say making it rain is "disrespectful", and other customers say dancers don't like the rain. A dancer has never told me that. I'm pretty sure instead of 300 ones, you would prefer three 100 dollar bills, but it's my belief that you have no problem with getting rained on lol.

    Thoughts?

Larryfisherman, not that I want to dissuade the dancers from responding to your post, but there is also an older post that you can view to get some other perspectives in the meantime, until the dancers can decide if they want to respond.

Also, feel free to pose the question to the dancers at your local clubs. Most aren't used to getting tips these days, especially not from stage dancing or pole work. When asked how to be compensated, the answer I usually have gotten is "(lap) dances", but if your goal is to get them to sit and talk with you at your table, feel free to tip them generously** on stage, then invite her to come sit with you if she's free. Then you can give her the rest discreetly when she's at your table. This is typically what I do.

My best guess is the reason the other customers are getting upset or cranky is they are worried you are upping the ante in tip prices and they feel they may get "priced out" due to a big flashy spender recalibrating all of the dancers' tip expectations (upward) for that shift. There is a saying, when in Rome, do like the Romans. In a way, that also works in strip clubs.

** What "generously" can mean, is anything from a few dollars more than the other guys are tipping, on up to a single $20 or $100 (if you can afford it) tucked in her garter. Not to low ball the dancers who are used to more $$, but a single $20 tip on stage is still an unusual tip in a lot of places so that should work to get her attention, if her attention is your goal.

It's definitely not disrespectful... what's disrespectful is not tipping the dancers, regardless of the denomination you choose.

I haven't danced for a few years, but I remember the rain being awesome. Unless trends have really changed that much, I say make it rain whenever you want!

Making it rain is usually great.

The only downsides is if it's not a place that has that type of money show then for the girls it will bring out competition. anytime I had a guy rain money on me the vulchers came out the woodworks and it was more of a challenge to maintain a connection between me and the guy. The girls at the club are aggressive so I was prepared.

The girl also has to unfold the money if it's crumpled and count it or pay someone to count it. And the money will have to be taken from the main floor to be secured somewhere safe - this may take time to do or if she doesn't want to leave the main floor with the guy who made it rain (mega hustlers will steal him away) she has to lug all the money around until she gets a break to go secure the money.

I think it depends on the club culture. Some girls like to get their money discreetly while others like the show.

At the end of the day though any money made on stage is greatly appreciated despite any minor obstacles or challenges.

I loved having it rain on me! There's something hot about feeling all the dollars fall on you,(Idk maybe I'm weird). Plus it got attention from other customers and made it look like I was a big deal "super stripper." It's always a nice surprise to get rained on onstage, or get tipped $10's and $20's onstage. It's bonus money since I usually worked at VIP-centric clubs and usually didn't expect much from stage shows.

I've never understood why ANYONE would have a problem with being rained on. Two major plusses:

    1. I like money. Obviously.
    2. It's really good advertising.

You making it rain on me tells everyone else in the club that I'm awesome. Most men want whatever other men want. Nothing makes men want to spend on me more than seeing me get rained on or going in and out of VIP all night.

^Cuz of the whole crawling around to get it factor vs. Handed it and advertising making a lot (even if it's just ones) to other girls. Honestly, I prefer being handed money, but if it's rained on or nothing, I'll take it.

I agree that getting rained on tends to make the other guys notice me and I usually end up getting a lot of other guys approaching me afterwards.. so I love that. The only time I don't really like getting rained on is if I'm at a club that has multiple dancers on stage because sometimes if the money is all over the stage falling on everyone, the other girls will take some of it even if it wasn't intended for them. Sometimes I think it's because they genuinely thought it was for them.. and sometimes just because they're bitches. Either way it's annoying.

I got hailed on once. The club had a sort of VIP-ish area on the second level that ran around the club and was open to below. Bordering just inside the railing on the first level were the stages, so if guys upstairs liked what they saw below, they could let their money fal to the stage. It worked better if it was tightly folded/crumpled into a ball, though. When the first bill hit me, I thought some dingus was throwing trash (it was a borderline dive full of punky college kids). Then hail fell from the heavens above and it turned out to be money. Absolutely no complaints. I adjusted my stage show to be a little more focussed on my audience from above, happy piled my money into a bucket (one of the very few times I've ever had/gotten to use one) and moved on to the next stage.

As Dominic hinted at, my typical stage tip ranges from nothing to $5. If someone really likes me, they'll give me more, but very very rarely has anyone had enough money to warrant "rain." They might chuck their five or ten dollars up in the air as a joke, but it's always a happy occasion when someone has enough to make a proper rain of it. I will happily spend a few extra moments on stage mopping up my cash and counting all the singles later, because in my opinion, having to count money is a problem you want to have. On the flip side, I've also had customers follow me from stage to stage and tip me in twenties and tens. It definitely grabs my attention, and because I have two twenties, a ten, and a five, as opposed to 55 singles, it means I can put it all in my purse/thong/garter and hop immediately down from stage to go sit with them. It's not as flashy and celebratory/doesn't deliver the same feeling of getting rained on, but money is money, and the efficiency of the bigger bills means I spend less time wrestling the dollars into submission and more time sitting with the tipper in question. Which, if they're dropping that much money on me on stage, they probably have enough money/have the intention and desire to go up to VIP, which means we're going to have a party either way, whether they made a flashy show of it or not.

TLDR, money is a wonderful, wonderful thing. If you give us money, we like you. If you give us so much money, you can make it rain down upon us, we probably like you even more. Other customers are generally a fairly untrustworthy source when it comes to the behind the scenes "what strippers really want/like" side of the industry, unless they're saying we like efficient customers/hustles and money. However, if the girls in your club tell you they'd rather you just hand it to them, that's another story entirely. Every club is different, and it's not always good for the girl you're tipping if other people see you have money to literally throw around. Ask around. The girls at your club will probably be plenty happy to let you know how they feel about it, and then at least you'll know for sure one way or the other.

My embarrassing making-it-rain story. I was in Wonderland with a couple of friends. I had been overserved adult beverages so I wasn't thinking clearly. They have the money guns there to borrow but my drunk self couldn't get it to work. I go up to one of the small stages with a stack on 1's about 3 inches high from the gun. I throw it up into the air. They all stay together as a perfect stack and just fall in place on the stage. Lamest making-it-rain ever. A friend had to get up and re-throw the money while the stripper tried to stop him (she must have thought he was trying to steal the money). I hear that story retold far to often.

I love getting rained on. I also love making it rain, when I go to a club as a customer on rare occasion.

If it means anything, the bartenders at the club I visit sometimes make it rain on the dancers. I'm not sure if they are making it rain on another customer's behalf, or if it is just an arranged ploy to get tips rolling/spice up the ambience.
But from that, I would say more dancers than not enjoy a good rain for stage dramatics. Personally, I like to be more discrete with my tipping. I'm also scared i'm too much of a clutz to make the bills distribute evenly lol

If you make it rain in Canada remember to use $5 bills, getting hit by $300 in Loonies (a large Canadian coin) is going HURT!
