Default Best Pole for Home Use

What pole do you have at home? I'm about to take classes but can't go often, and would love something on the inexpensive side for at home use.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking to build muscle and whatnot so you can do some impressive tricks in the club, then you'd probably want more of a stainless-steel type pole (I have a ss X-pole). Stainless steel is tough on the ol' self-esteem, as it will take much longer for you to be able to nail tricks - the material is much more slippery. If you're looking for something that's a bit easier, because you're more interested in playing around with it at home /doing sexy tricks for your SO / practicing dancing and moving more than pole tricks, then you'll want to look for a stickier material, such as copper-plated or powder (I think that's what it's called...?).

The women on here who do inversions and more risky moves are all happy with their X-Poles. I consider it to be the most 'hardcore' pole brand.

I wouldn't trust anything but an x-pole as a home pole.

As far as finishes, from least grippy to grippiest, they go: stainless steel, chrome, titanium, brass, powder coated. (Powder coated ones were limited edition tho so unlikely you'll find one unless someone is selling a used one on craigslist or something)

Note that brass poles are only sticky if you have normal to oily skin... dry skin will slide right off of it.

^Brass is what I was trying to think of, not copper.

I have an xpole and while it was $350 it was worth every penny. I consider it an investment in my stripping career and in my health as it is a great workout. I also always feel safe on it, even when I'm doing inversions that scare the crap out of my boyfriend.

Yep. I bought my X-Pole like 8 years ago, and it still looks brand new. X-Poles are serious. Super reliable and safe.

If you buy a pole that you aren't confident will hold your weight, you simply won't use it. Like, if you even have a sliver of doubt in your head, you won't be risking inversions. It's best to buy this sort of thing once and spend the extra money to make sure you won't have to shell out any more money in the future.
