Angry Need a new club but getting horrible anxiety about it

I need a new club. We are not allowed to work at another club or we get fired. Wondering if anyone else has felt similar? It would be different if I knew I wouldn't get fired over it.

Tell your manager you're taking a week off to go on vacation, to visit a sick relative, etc., and use your time off to check out the other club. This way, you can see if you like the new club before burning any bridges at your current club.

I wish they could move this to ladies only.

I wouldn't worry about this post being public, you didn't mention which area you are in so I don't think they can figure out or prove who started this post.

I've always hated clubs that were that possessive of their dancers. It defeats the purpose of being an independent contractor

Anyway, I'm not sure what your reasons are for wanting to switch clubs but just wait until you're sure you don't mind burning bridges with your current club before you make the final decision to switch clubs, that way you don't make a huge mistake. You could always audition at a few of the other clubs or talk to the managers to make sure you'll get hired before quitting.

You might be surprised how little the clubs care about if their dancers are working at a different club. Just go audition someplace on your next day off. Use a different stage name when you audition. See if it's possible to stay and work a whole shift on the day you auditioned.

Unless you are someplace where you license has to stay with a single club (Atlanta and Reno do this, I think), you should be able to just go wherever you want to work.

I've actually worked at a club where they do care & they will typically put in there contract. I agree with DarlingNikki
-she should just tell the club she's taking a week off & check out the other club on the sly. Use a different stage name, don't tell anyone what your actually doing (some people have big mouths or will throw you under the bus) & just try the other club out. Give yourself a few day or the whole week -if you decide to stay at the new club then just let the other club know your gonna be taking off for alittle while, but if you decide to go back to your home club then keep your little adventure under your hat. The main reason many clubs get possessive over their dancers is because they don't want other girls poaching or swaying their girls away to other clubs (hence, keeping everything to yourself). Just make absolutely sure not to get other girls or dancers involved or in the know. I had it bite me in the ass once when a girl got waaay too wasted & threw me under the bus by accident to a club I had left on very, very good terms. So then when I wanted to go back, I had to jump through some real hoops because of her. No bueno.

Good luck, girl, sometimes a change of scenery whether it be temporary or permanent can be a refresher!
