Question **Shaving or waxing?? Newbie, help?!**

    Hi ladies,
I'm preparing to go to my first audition in about a week or so. I want to be ready when i go in. It's going to be topless, but I know a lot will still show in the panty area. Should I wax (never had it done before) our will shaving suffice? Help!
    Thanks in advance!!

I would wax. It's not that painful.

But then again, some people can get away with shaving daily down there. I certainly wasn't one of them. If you can, that might be fine too.

And then I'd get that shit lasered asap.

I'd give waxing a try. Shaving every shift will get tiring and expensive. I literally just brought a $8 razor. If you don't like waxing try hair removal cream.

I used to wax a lot which thinned out my hair substantially and now all I need to do is shave about twice a week.

If you've never waxed before, I'd shave honestly. Or just stick to what you know works so you don't have a reaction or have any hair removal crises right before auditioning..don't need to add any stress on. I don't find waxing while dancing regularly too feasible anyways since there's a "grow out" period that looks pretty rough in between.

I'm surprised no one has recommended Nair

Thanks, I really don't want any added stress, that's my main concern, I appreciate that. My only thing is I always get razor bumps bad. Maybe I just need to upgrade my razor lol

I've never tried it before, I wonder if it irritates the skin? My sins not that sensitive. Do you ever have issues with it?

I'd give waxing a try. Just less to worry about on a daily basis.

I use Nair and I love it. Once I left it on too long and it burned for an hour or so, but nothing intolerable.

I've left it on way too long and it burned for maybe a day or so when I peed to tbh...but I still really prefer it. Waxing does look better than Nair or shaving but no one is going to look THAT closely at your vagina, it's expensive and for me quite painful.

I use clippers... like the kind men use to shape their goatee. Small head for small detailed areas. It's not as close as a shave, but in the dim club lighting, I don't think anyone notices and it certainly doesn't hurt my money. I can do it every other day and get no shave bumps. Waxing is great but it freakin hurts me still...

If I DO shave, I always use a clean (as in BRAND NEW never been anywhere else) razor. If I have shaved my pits or legs, I don't let it near my lady bits. Always gets irritated!

I would shave. I did the waxing thing for more than a year and I hated the grow out period, as well it was pretty damn expensive. What I did get from waxing though are the products from European Wax Center I absolutely love. After I shave I usually take a wet cotton ball and add a few drops (like 2-3, it's potent) of tea tree oil and go over the whole area, then apply the ingrown hair serum from EWC, followed by the Slow-It body lotion. But yeah... I find that guys usually either don't look that closely or otherwise don't care at all about the hair, it's more for your own personal comfort; dancing and sweating in bikini bottoms isn't fun when you've got full bush lol

Layered it all years ago so now just a fine regrowth which is handled with hair removing cream, lots of daily exfoliation & Tend Skin.

Waxing is better but also painful and more expensive. Shaving has to be done every 2 days and the general upkeep of razors can become a nag. Nair is okay of your skin can handle it but be warned...it can burn skin and it stinks

Okay, I know this post is kinda oldish but here's my opinion from my experience. I'm super sensitive down there. Once, I tried the leave-on cream that you rub off (everywhere but the labia for obvious concern) and it was the worst mistake ever. It BURNT my skin even though I wiped it off earlier than expected. Yeah, the hair was gone but everything was in pain. So no-go there.
Second was self waxing with those strips you can buy or the new pot you put in the microwave and use like a wax pot. It worked in some spots, but not all. The wax isn't too great a quality for those who don't have super thin strands of hair down there, meaning you don't regularly wax. Next problem with this was the fact that you're doing it yourself. You can't see everywhere and have to do some weird shit to see some spots and even then you can barely see. And if you can't handle pain, waxing yourself will be hard.
Shaving is good if you don't have sensitive skin. I wish I could do it regularly but it causes bumps even when I put oil, deodorant, etc. I've tried everything.
Waxing is my go-to. If you find it's too expensive, look for somewhere out of the city (if you live in one) because they are usually a LOT cheaper.

All in all, shaving and waxing is up to you but please dear god do not try that leave-on stuff. haha

Best shave (for me at least) = Coconut oil as shaving cream, shave with the grain (not against!), and any after care lotions that you may need for your skin type (I don't need them if I use coconut oil).

I get full Brazilian waxes (front and back). It's not as painful as you think, the whole process takes less than 15 minutes, and most likely you will be able to afford it with ease once you start dancing. A wax lasts me about a month and I rub Neosporin on the area everyday to avoid/treat any ingrown hairs. All in all, I think it's worth it to avoid the hassle of shaving -- and that's not to mention the unsightly razor bumps/irritation that come with daily shaving.

Y'all I just tried to do my own brazilian. No bueno. Lol I thought I was going to rip my vulva of. I think I'm going to wax the triangle area and shave the rest.
