Default Not sure if this is a body biz? Or dollar den?

I'm trimming the fat from my budget. I go to a wellness center that I've become very attached to. I've lost 40 pounds in 2015. I've been slacking so far this year but am maintaining. I also have a YMCA membership that I use for the steam room or if I miss a class at the center. The wellness center offers exercise classes, nutrition, grocery shopping tours and group meetings. I'm so scared without my meetings I'll gain my weight back. On the other hand the YMCA basically pays for itself. Should I keep both or just the YMCA?

I'm the same. I have a high dollar membership at a really nice gym. I love the steam room. its one of the main reasons I keep the membership.

Well I think it depends on how tight your budget is. If it's really tight and you need to add to your savings, emergency fund, or retirement then get rid of it (at least temporarily until you increase your income).

You can always use your shower as a makeshift steam room.

Yes, I agree. The YMCA is expensive.

If the membership is helping you maintain, I would keep it. You also can do it alone without spending the money. It takes a fair amount of self-motivation and you can find all the info online. You just need to find a trigger that will keep you motivated. Feeling healthier, having more energy, getting lots of attention, being able to wear anything you want and your clothes fit better.

Hey, fyi- if you learn to do body wraps yourself, it's three bucks pet wrap-each Paddington to seven days. It takes off inches, accentuates shape, lifts and firms books and ass, and opens pores to excrete toxins. No, I'm not a rep and have nothing to gain from this. I'm just telling you what worked for me when I was eating fast food, drinking heavily, and was spending two grand a month on school.

Actually the YMCA is $36 for both me and my daughter and we can go to any branch in the city while my other membership is $82.50. I say the Y pays for itself because my daughter goes to their summer camp and having the membership gives me a discount there.

If they fit in the budget, keep both. Here's my why. The $82.50 gym is clearly working. Taking 40 pounds off and keeping it off over Christmas is a huge success! Don't mess with success. They Y is doing it's thing for your daughter. Again, don't mess with success.

If you have to cut, look at your other budget categories. Can you find $36 somewhere else? Does the $82.50 club do any bargaining? I've known clubs to be willing to negotiate their membership fee. Same with the Y, but they're already relatively inexpensive.

Wow! That's good. In my area it's almost 100.00 a month, where I pay 22.00 for my gym, including tanning. I am sorry - I was way off and didn't realize it varied that much! Keep the Y and get rid of the other one. That's almost 1,000 a year.
