    Default Telling my regular

Didn't know whether to put this here or HH...

i recently switched clubs about a 1-2 months ago & immediately gained a regular, cool. The issue is I told him a fake name (not my stage name) he's been consistently coming in atleast 2-3 nights that I work and spends a decent amount. So how do I just tell him my real name or do I just keep it as is? I don't think he'd be pissed af,but I think he would feel I lied somewhat. Idk,what would you do?

I wouldn't ever tell a customer my real name. True story: I made the mistake of doing this once, and then he also saw me in my car, which had a bumper sticker for the college I attended. Using my first name and my college, he found my Facebook profile! If he knows what town you live in, where you're originally from, or any other detail about you, he can couple that with your first name to figure out who you are.

I'm a little lost. I read the OP a few times to see what I was not seeing but I don't get the issue. You changed clubs? Keep the same fake name. I had my fake/real name going for the longest.

Yeah tell your regular where they can find you now. Maybe start a fb, twitter, or blog so people know when and where you're working. You could get another number to give to regulars. My first regular has been following me from club to club since 2009 because I have been able to let him know each of the 5 times I've moved clubs

I pick a "real" name that sounds like my stage name and give that one out if anyone gets pushy or super spendy, and I never go back and give them my real one, no matter how much they spend on me or how often they come in. My actual real and legal name doesn't exist in the club beyond filling out the hiring paperwork. From the moment I step in, to the moment I go home, my "real name" is Sarah. Or Monica, or Liz, or June, or... etc. Generally, I try and keep it the same between customers, and even between clubs, if I can, just to keep it consistent so I don't have to try and remember what I told customer X last week, or in case customer Y comes to see me at a new club. If my previous stage name is taken at a new club and I need to pick a different one, I might pick a new "real name" too, but I might also not. Depends on my mood when someone pushes/spends enough to warrant an answer. But never do I ever "take our relationship to the next level" with a customer by giving him my real name. Maybe if he had a job opportunity I wanted and I'd need to fill out hiring paperwork, in which case he would find out then. Or maybe if I decide to start dating him (probably when pigs fly) then I might "confess" my actual real name. But barring those need-to-know situations, your real name is your own business. No one in the club needs to know it besides you and whoever accepted your hiring paperwork, ever.

You don't need to tell anyone anything, and you shouldn't.

I told him a fake real name. My stage name isn't really a name so instead of the "what's your real name" thing I just give a random fake name.

keep the fake real name. never ever tell. and when you have a birthday, don't fall for the "let me see your drivers license" trick.
