Question Lube with probiotics in it?!

I was browsing amazon, as I often do, and came across this. It's a lube with probiotics in it that's for people who have sensitive lady bits.
The ingredient list looks extremely promising & it doesn't contain any glycerin, fragrance, parabens, flavorings, alcohol, or hormones & is 100% edible. It's also FDA approved. I wanted to know if anyone here has tried it for camming? what were your thoughts on it? Is it actually worth $8.50 an ounce?
If nobody has tried it yet, I think I'll take the plunge and let you know how it is.

I'm highly skeptical about this product.

~ First of all, the primary ingredients are vegetable oil, olive oil, and apricot seed oil - none of which would make a better lube than any other oil.

~ Secondly, the "probiotic" is a type of yeast, and that doesn't seem good to me.

~ Thirdly, if you mix microorganisms (such as the yeast probiotic) into oil, they cannot survive due to lack of water, so the probiotics in this product are most likely dead. Even if they aren't dead, they would have a hell of a time extracting themselves from the oil and mixing into your natural vaginal fluids, which is the only place they could possibly be of any benefit.

~ Lastly, I have no idea what their claim of "FDA approved" means. The FDA doesn't evaluate personal lubricant or any "cosmetic" that doesn't list an active ingredient (e.g. on an FDA approved acne face wash, you might see Active Ingredient: Salicylic acid, 2%; Inactive Ingredients: [all the other ingredients you find in face wash]). This item doesn't list an active ingredient as required by the FDA, so it hasn't been approved as a drug. The other possibility is that the FDA approved it as a food (which would explain why the directions on the box are extremely vague and include "Contains edible ingredients"). Pretty much anything is automatically approved by the FDA as a food as long as it's actually edible and doesn't contain any drugs. I'd say that their "FDA approved" claim is misleading at best, and totally bogus at worst.

OnO! If you sort the reviews by most recent, everyone says it sucks as a lube. Probiotic suppositories are on the market as well. Yogurt up the vag is probiotic, right (dunno, never tried it)? When I've gotten really effective probiotics, they've had to be kept refrigerated. Ph balance is the real vag concern from what I've gathered in my quests.

I'd be a bit scared of it...

The probiotics I have have to be kept in the fridge too.
I dn't know what happens to them when they're not kept cold. They probably die? Or they start multiplying :o. Plus the information above about what happens when they're stored in oil... so you have a concoction with dead probiotics

Peraonally would stick to coconut oil if that works for you, I always think the more simple the better, and less likely to run into problems than something that contains say five different oils.

Having said this, I looked up pichia/resveratol ferment extract and the information is interesting, it's used in moisturisers -

My urethra is so healthy now that I take D-mannose every other day and wheatgrass shots daily. Both are preventives against UTI's. I do eat yogurt daily too. I use coconut oil as lube...I've tried others but always go back to the coco oil.

Also, N-acetyl D-glucosamine is a great supplement to take for anti-aging and building up your mucus membranes. It will help with collagen restoration, bone loss, receding gums, hair/nails, gastrointestinal health, urogenital health, dry eyes etc. Anything that contains collagen/keratin will improve on this supplement. A quick google will bring you to hundreds of articles on how it works effectively for IBS, wrinkles etc. It's pretty damn awesome.

I have been afraid to try it as I have a seafood allergy and go into anaphylactic shock. Sounds like great stuff but not if I end up dead.....
