Sky Rise by NYC, a cheapie. I also like to put clear over it, & then NYX waterproof topcoat. A primer is also key, although for everyday wear I leave it off.

I've recently fallen head over heels for false lashes. <3 But I'm also a lazy butt and only put them on very occasionally. They will probably forever have my heart, but mascara is much more conductive to the agenda of quick and easy.

With that said, Urban Decay's Perversion is actually pretty close to the fake lash look, especially if you only use a light coat. For extra "Umph!" you can let that coat dry and add a second, but I still try and keep it light so I can add length without having the lashes start grouping together.

I've always been happy with covergirl lashblast, in the orange tube (not the waterproof version, the regular one). Put on a coat, wait thirty seconds, put on a second coat, etc.

Moisturize under your eyes at night with vitamin e oil - it gets onto your lashes and helps keep them healthy, resulting in longer lashes. You can also get lash growth stuff from alldaychemist. You can only fake so much length and volume; the longer and more voluminous your actual lashes are, the more mascara will help them stick out.

But if you're going for gorgeous, swipe on some eyeliner and stick on a pair of falsies. You can buy lashes that only go on the outer third of your eyelid, which can result in a very natural look. Men are *clueless* about this stuff, so unless you're walking around in broad daylight with literal tarantulas on your eyelids, they aren't going to think your lashes are fake!

But srsly...fake lashes are 100% worth the learning curve. Watch a few Youtube videos for application tips. Fake lashes are the bee's knees. They are a bit addicting, too. So many different types to try. I'll be ordering some off of eBay soon, where you can find them for far less than the major U.S. brands (ardell, red cherry).

For myself, my skin (& esp around my eyes) is VERY sensitive so fakes wouldn't work for me..I've also heard that the glue/removal process can yank out a few lashes..
I have mini mascaras, Benefit, that I use in addition to the NYC Sky Rise

^That sucks that you can't use them. :/

I've never had them rip out any of my natural lashes. Just mentioning my experience.

Yea. I'm older, & my skin's become more sensitive/dry. I now have to have my beautician add sweet n low to my hair dye to minimize irritation.
I just now placed an Ulta order, they're giving a free Stila new formula of mini mascara, so we'll see how that goes.

Benefit's "they're real" mascara & primer. Even the primer alone makes my lashes look fucking incredible.

So i'll wear that as a civilian but always do fake lashes at work. There's just nothing that compares to falsies.

We should start a thread on our favorite falsies for work... I'm on mobile; otherwise I'd do it.

You know, I get it that false lashes are the bomb, but w/all the new fangled stuff, eventually there's gotta be a mascara that fits the bill to compete w/falsies.
& yea, using a primer makes a big difference

I love this mascara for my upper lashes, but it seems to crumble on my lower ones:-( I like Perversion too, but it kind of gives me racoon eyes after a while and sometimes stings my eyes.

I just stared using this mascara about 3 months ago, I agree with candycups, this mascara is amazing! It doesn't clump at all and gets my lashes super long and black. The bottom lashes will smudge at times, no biggie for me though. It has a bunch of vitamins and good stuff in it, and claims to make your lashes grow. I know that sounds crazy, but right before I bought this product I had to cut off an individual eyelash extension that was hanging, and I accidentally chopped off several lashes in the process. This mascara was a lifesaver in transforming my stubs. Now my lashes are the longest they have ever been.
The Cons: Its pricey; $30 at Ulta. It also doesn't come in a waterproof version but I have shed a few tears while wearing this and was just fine

    I tried UD & didn't like it, maybe I'll retry..my drawer's a mascara graveyard.
& I wish ppl would stop talking the falsh lashes, I get it, they do look amazing, but I can't wear 'em & this's a mascara thread. Thank you.
There's an online Allure article, it names some brands that are supposed to be good. I go more for lengthening effect, it mention Eliz Arden for that, & one other I can't remember

^I think there's a good balance in this thread. False lashes aren't off topic, imo. It's just a different approach to the same 'problem'. Just ignore the false lashes stuff since you can't wear them.
