Default Twitchtv - vanilla camming for gamers

I'm just now hearing of it, any info/experience with it?
From the very small research I've done, it's obviously male dominated so they're pretty tough on "fake gamer girls" but what else is new. If there was already a thread on this I couldn't find it.

You can make money, I have a few completely vanilla friends that do. It likely won't be a huge level of money, unless you have a pretty large following that donates regularly or a sponsor. But I've also heard the harassment is a huge problem for female streamers, so be prepared for that.

The biggest plus I can see is, if everything else is slow/dead, you can try to make something while having fun.

Yeah it definitely doesn't look like nude cam money.

Be careful streaming there if you're a pretty out there cam model, the guys on there won't care if you're dressed "appropriately". They find out you're a camgirl and all of you're a "sloot" and they start trolling you because you're only there to get donations and not play the games. Those guys can be some real dickheads

Yeah I seen some pretty gross harassing on a youtube comp about the girl gamers there. The guys like to gawk and bully all in the same breath.

You need even better pcs for twitch if your running a game as well. Your looking at $1000 just for the cpu. Green screen setups full 1080p cam and game running in 1080p.

And as you say the the trolls on twitch

Shit lol nevermind then. And I don't cam, I dance so I don't even have the basic equipment to begin with.
Not worth the gamble for me, but hopefully someone else can get useful info from here

Yea, I wouldn't do Twitch for the money. You need a pretty big following (Youtube, podcasts, and Twitch) to even make that kind of money, on top of game play practice to get good at your game genre (fight combos for fighting games, strategy for RPGs, etc) and gaming consoles and gaming computers being a lot more expensive than regular desktops and laptops. It can happen, but it may take even longer than camming to gain a following.

Twitch is not a very good place for girls. Cam girls or totally vanilla gamer girls.
Apparently you can't be a gamer, (or at least share your love for gaming) if you're a girl. Most guys will just think you're attentionwhore or noob.

I think TwitchTv is pretty great if you are great at your game genre and prepare for some Red Pill/Angry male gamer harassment. I would do it for money but it seems like you must earn those dicks' respect as well.

If you're into different table top games I would just make a vanilla table top youtube channel and do your hair and make up nicely and wear something tight and sexy, but not too obvious. Should be good to get some male viewers.

I used to have a vanilla channel (sports related), but because of the outfit I had a massive male following and there was no point in making any serious content anymore because all the comments just said something along the lines of "Nice ass".

I stream on twitch sometimes when I have time to sit down and play a game (right now my gaming computer is busted so I'll be off for a few months at least). I don't have any followers really and most of what pop in talk about how pretty I am endlessly and god forbid I'm on an MMO, they keep offering to help. I was in a top raiding guild for my server in wow, I don't really need help leveling a little alt. It can be a bad place for women because gaming is still very male based and they don't like girls in their game. Why I don't know. Also most female streamers on twitch arn't taken seriously because they treat it like a PG chaterbate and twerk or boobie jiggle to get followers.

If you like gaming & hanging out it can be fun, but don't expect much more for it. I do know someone who after 5 months of steady streaming on a schedule and everything just started to make a little bit of $$ from donations & gifts. He set it up to where a noise pops up when a donation comes through that scares him into screaming. They give $1 through the day to hear a grown man scream like a little girl.

There was a camgirl on mfc that tried this and I think it did help her momentum number wise in her mfc room. You *do* increase your exposure but from what I've seen the girls who do twitch and cam have lots of numbers in their room but no tippers.

Twitch if you already love gaming have a setup and the money would only be a plus. Btw I use to date a guy that played world of Warcraft and if you are already sensitive about dumb motherfuckers in your room, wait until you meet the gaming guys. Some are 6 and some are 36 all ready and waiting to troll the fuck out of you in their moms basement.

Yeah bejewelled on your phone wont cut it. some twitch people have $8000 pcs maybe even more than that. Everything at ultra settings however it would be cool to play games while the room builds up then run a show to the people. Less boredom but it would be cool to see their faces when it gets hardcore

You have to be really careful with Twitch...if they do get a report and think for a second that you're doing a camming or advertising (or even if your clients there report you at all) they can and will cut your account with them. I'm curious how the MFC model above has done it for so long. Their reasoning is simple and they can't budge on it...18+ can't mix with family-friendly (even if its really not).

I streamed there for a few months when my SO built a new gaming pc. I made about $900, which didn't even cover the PC and I already owned the webcam and green screen so I was good on that, but o the $900, I cashed out $200. The rest went towards buying new games to get viewers. No one was particularly mean to me, but quite a number of people recognized me. I had banned keywords so when they would ask me if I was "soandso" it wouldn't show, so I could ban them right away, but it's not worth it. You really do need a really great PC for this otherwise you won't be able to play anything that is hardware intensive and most cam girls won't have a pc good enough to handle playing most games.

A lot of girls here know a lot about PCs and do have some great ones, but for the most part you probably will not have one. A laptop won't cut it.

I never had any issues with people being nasty to me, I did not pull a Kaceytron and have my tits hanging out or anything. I was just a regular girl playing and people seemed to like that. I had a lot of regulars come back and they would even watch my SO play games when he streamed too.

If you really love playing video games and can afford to buy new ones as they come out and aren't worried about being exposed, then it could work for you. There's one major cam girl with mahoosive breasts (I guess I can't name drop?) and she was outed as a cam girl, but she was recognizable. She got a sub button, you get about $2.50 per sub after Twitch's cut, but she was under CONSTANT harassment and honestly I don't think it is worth it. She doesn't seem to stream anymore or not that I have seen. She only ever really played Minecraft and that's not quite as popular anymore.

yes you can stream D&D, a guy I follow on there that has a great following and does Twitch as a living does a D&D stream every so often with friends.

You need to make sure you follow the rules. Nothing sexual. Buttholes will be watching you like a shark and will report you. Make it about the gameplay. Never make your camfeed bigger then the game.

It's fucked up how cruel guys can be towards women in gaming. They had a Law and Order SVU a while ago about this very thing, and it was pretty horrible what they did to that woman.

I remember when there was that GameCrush site some years ago, but it didn't last very long.

I've not once experienced these super mean male gamers. I played A LOT of MMOs. I've been to a lot of tournaments for shooters, strategy games, and CCGs. Twitch sounds scary. Probably younger xbox type gamers. I'm just trying to figure out WHY dudes want to watch girls game PG. Just go to a con, bro.
