    Default Steel Boned Corset Brands

I'm starting waist training finally but I don't know where to start. I'm already hourglass shaped and get asked if I've done waist training, but I want to make it more dramatic. I recently purged all my old clothing including things like corsets, so I'm starting over and need corset brand recommendations. The goal with waist training is to start wearing more 40s inspired cuts for a modern 40s inspired look. I can see it in my head.

1 Do I need to start with a fancy corset starting out or is any steel boned corset fine? I would think I would need the highest quality one possible so that I don't fuck up my body!

2 Should I get a custom corset or is a generic one fine? Should I wait for a custom corset or do it now?

3 How often should I be wearing the corset each day? I absolutely cannot wear it while
sleeping because I've had bad experiences. I don't even think you're supposed to anyway.

4 Which brands do you recommend? They must be steel boned! I am going into the What Katie Did shop shortly to be fitted and purchase one unless someone objects to this.

5 Any resources or tips? I know there are similar threads on this but most are old and "corset" is too common of a word to bring up threads with substance on this topic.

Did you stop by What Katie Did, how was it? I need to go. Today I wore mine for 5 hours. I suck, but it takes getting used to (again) and I made the mistake of tightening it up after the 1st hour and I was already in a bad mood so that didn't help. Tomorrow I'll try for 7 hours. Mine is a steel boned tight-lacing corset from Timeless Trends. Was around $100.

I also have a natural hourglass shape but I'm still losing weight and I want my waist to be extra defined.

I'm healing from a cyst so I haven't been in yet! But I talked to them on the phone and will be in shortly, maybe in a week or two when I'm better. From my understanding (and there are superior forums on waist training other than dead SW), bones corsets aren't helpful for weight loss and you'd probably be better off with a cincher. They have workout ones. I had a stretch latex one that was around $80 via the Internet from a couple years ago.

The better the quality, the more comfortable the corset. Also, nothing beats a custom corset however, they are super expensive.

It depends on your body shape, if you have scoliosis or some other structural body uniqueness, a custom corset is better. If you are very symmetrical, a off the rack should be just fine and get you to your waist training goals. Have a look at Lucy's site for the best information: https://www.youtube.com/user/bishonenrancher

The more you wear your corset, the faster your results. It helps to have a softer, shorter, waspie, mesh corset just for sleeping eg. https://www.orchardcorset.com/corset...corset-cs-201/ and a smooth corset liner. I like nylon seamless liners under my corsets.

If you're just starting out, try www.orchardcorset.com and Timeless Trends. Also www.lucycorsetry.com has her own line of corsets now--they are Timeless Trends corsets but made to her specifications. These corset companies are very reasonably priced. Once you are more comfortable with tightlacing, you can graduate up to the higher end brands like What Katie Did.

There is always a seasoning period with every new corset. I would wear a new one for about 2 hours and then rest, then wear it again a little longer until the corset changes to your body shape. You should only feel "held in" comfortably with a corset. If you feel pain, or severe discomfort, something is wrong, either you are too tightly laced, the corset is the wrong size, the corset is not seasoned enough or it's a bad corset.

As well, keep in mind your own figure, if you have a more athletic/boyish type body, start with a modern shape corset and work your way to a hourglass corset. Measure yourself correctly and don't just blindly buy a corset just because it has good reviews.
