Yeeees! I'm training for a 5k in key west in January and I don't miss the gym at all. I live in a city with so many beautiful trails, it's my Zen. I love it. I love ruuning on the beach, too. It's going to be hot as balls here soon which will make it harder but I just view it as more of a challenge. I love living in Florida. I've been recovering from abdominal surgery and have to be very careful because I've lost so much core strength but I've been taking pole classes and doing the butt bible which has been helping with my current state of skinny fat.

I'm going to try a corepower yoga class next week, they do a lot of the stuff we do in pilates but I like the idea of no machines and doing JUST body weight stuff. Besides I like the one instructor's methods so much at the pilates place that I only like her classes now and she only teaches 1-2x a week.

I'm so sore for the first time in a while from pilates yesterday which is cray because yesterday's class was the easiest one in a while.

I highly recommend this video (which is actually a podcast) about (sports) nutrition for women: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7eIZWKkBq0

Additionally, everything Jeff posts is golden. And his girlfriend, Robin Gallant (also on Youtube) is perhaps my biggest inspiration when it comes to lifting. I'm not talking about #bodygoals (even though her body is amazing) but she really knows her stuff.

Random fitness news you can use-

    * I learned not to go running/jogging before bed. Cue clear minded insomnia, a real pain when you need to get up early.

    * I got fatter in the last 2 weeks (bad) but most probably from having a heavy menstrual period (good.)

    * I'm never using Hydroxcut again, that crap is disgusting.

I signed up for my free first week of yoga but the classes I want are either really early or really late so I haven't ended up trying it yet. I went for a nice hike today in other fitness news. Tomorrow is pilates with the instructor I love.

I looked up the other place where my favorite pilates instructor works, she only does 2 days a week at the place I go to and I like to go 3x a week, I knew the other place wasn't local but damn it's way too far for me. I was thinking it would be worth a drive once a week but not to where I now know she is. She's right by where I go for my orthodontist appointments and I hate going up there, doing it once every 8 weeks for my braces is annoying enough I can't do it once a week. Boo.

Also whatever we were doing on Thursday kicked my ass so hard. I've been so sore that it's hard to bend down and I have only been that sore a few times in my life, plus it's mostly my quads and they almost never get sore I guess because I'm so quad-dominant. Fortunately I happen to love that sore feeling.

I need to get back at working out again. Specifically my booty. I've noticed that now that I'm dancing regularly again, my ass has firmed up a bit. But it's still not enough. I need to hit up the gym one of these days to do some leg presses (squats aren't exactly the best for your back). It just sucks that once I do I am going to have to put an effort into eating more, which is already hard enough for me when I'm trying to keep my diet clean.

Also @tanaashleee has my ideal body. Muscular but not too much. Hot damn.

I'm going to start the 21 day fix plan once we get all settled into our new place. I'm excited. I have finally found a temporary fix to not eating vegetables which is called Vega One. I want to lose at least 50lbs within the next year. That would be great!

Has anyone here tried a soylent to go with their workouts? I tried it because we had some from someone else trying it and really liked it. I switched to protein bars and was gassy and had heartburn and didn't quite feel like I was getting everything I needed to avoid cravings by the end of the workout.

^^What exactly is it, like a meal replacement shake? I wish I could drink protein shakes and meal replacement shakes because I honestly like the taste and I like how it's such a quick and easy meal but my body does not like them. They fuck my stomach up, mess my blood sugar up and give me horrible breath. Most of them are just bottles of chemicals anyway so I guess it makes sense.

I'm obsessed with sweating when I work out. If I'm going to work out in a situation where sweating isn't guaranteed (like, going for a walk), I'll wear extra clothing to maximize the opportunity.

Hot yoga feels like full-body purification to me. Aaaaaaaaaah so good.

It is a meal replacement, but it seems to work better for me than anything else I've tried. It isn't meant for the exercise industry, but more for people who are on the go who can't find time to sit down and eat. They aren't too expensive and you can buy them on Amazon. It may be worth trying. They taste a lot like soy milk, but a little thicker and better textured imo.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. It wasn't a big deal to me because I'd drink it before working out an hour or more, but it is a bit high in calories.

I went on a walk to finish off my 10k steps for the day. And....then there was a heart breaking wailing....I found newborn baby kittens with a mom who was still a kitten herself. The babies were crawling around on the driveway and mommy was in the broken splash guard of the car. We almost had mom, but her paw got caught in the carrier door and she bolted. I asked someone who has more expertise in this than I have in life and she said that there was a good chance that mommy wouldn't come back. My guy went and got milk and in the meantime I sat and waited and waited. He had to go to two stores to find goat's milk, so I was there for a good 30-45 minutes. Still no luck. Mommy is gone and I have newborn kittens right in time for finals O.o. I am going to call a friend to hopefully take them in tomorrow morning. The timing is so crazy, I mean right before finals? I'd have been willing to put in the work and lack of sleep any other time -_-

Oh yeah, the reason I posted this in here: Beware of exercise, it may cause kitten responsibilities.

I don't even know how many calories are in it, but I do know that I'd rather my calorie consumption be enjoyable!

I can run for an hour at 7mph on the treadmill, but when it comes to running outside, I feel like giving up and walking after 5 minutes. It's so annoying because I love the sunshine but I feel like such a failure each time I try to jog outside. :<

General bbs, what do you think makes for the best circuit training class? The teacher, right? I feel like I'm missing something.

Good music, other students with positive energy (rather than bitchy / competitive energy), and a teacher you like.

Yesterday I took a power-flow class with an instructor I didn't like, plus she couldn't get the speakers to work, so the class was basically silent. And there were only four other students in class. I'm usually a yoga rockstar, but I pooped out halfway through just because I was so damn bored and pissed off about how much I was hating the class. Like, I literally spent half of the class just laying on my mat.
