    Default Whole Foods Hauls

What items do you always buy when shopping at Whole Foods? Must-try items? I'm not sure if the stock varies from region to region but I don't think it does very drastically.

A fancy new Whole Foods with a restaurant and bar opened really close to me and it's full of eye candy so now I shop there all the time. I'm mostly vegan but occasionally eat fish/seafood/dairy. Pescatarian lite lol. Recommendations pls!

In the soap section, they have these sea salt scrubs with essential oils and herbs in it. Love it.

Imo, best vegan cheese is Kite Hill. But in the green package. The chives one only. The rest are bleh.

    Califia almond milk.

I can only find these items there.

Eh, it's pricey there (Whole Paycheck, lol)..I do, however hit up their salad bar, though it gets picked over & not replenished enough..I do like their vegan selections on the bar, not that I am, but sometimes I do eat that way once a week.
The one by me also has a seafood bar, I usually like it too, but they kinda stopped having squid. I mean they have it, but on & off.
I look for canned/pkg organic items, I like their packaged ready made popcorn (lite salt).
Depending, I may get fresh organic produce too. I like the Siggi brand yogurt (I usually eat the plain flavor, but their other flavors have the lowest sugar) not a lot of stores carry that brand.
What about Trader Joe's? I used to like them better..
    Honestly I shop the most @ Meijer's, it's like a Wmart.
Side notes: I bring some paper recycling stuff there, it's the only place I know of that does paper recycling..
    Super Attitudes in there

Whole Foods is pretty mid range for my area because there are pricier grocery stores like Gelsons and Bristol Farms. I used to live by a Gelsons and I definitely spent more than I do at Whole Foods. But I know a lot of areas aren't set up this way. We don't have a Walmart close and we don't have Meijers at all.

I tend to buy organic produce at farmers markets whenever possible but I know other areas don't always have those or are at inconvenient times.

    Other Honorable Mentions:
    Non-pasteurized orange juice (house brand)
    Spicy guacamole (house brand)
Organic avocados when I run out
Canned cat food (various, my cat loves it)

Lol, I actually just came from there, to do my paper recycling, lmao.
By me, there's a typical ma/pa restaurant, I love their soup (it's home made & comes in pint or qt to go) & next door's a Japanese restaurant, I got shrimp/veggie spring rolls, so that's my lunch.
Damn, I should've gotten the Soy Dream almond/coco milk ice cream, while @ WF. I cant have much dairy.
Do like/eat nuts? I got yesterday, some sun flower seeds, I also get walnuts & pumpkin seeds
I also get artichoke hearts, either canned or in a jar.
Oh! & I LOVE WF artichoke/avacado dip, mmm! (They sample it a lot) Their guac. is too spicy for me, sorry tum issues w/that.

    Lots of stuff.

The natural hair care product line (though it goes on sale occasionally at target I'll get it there)
    A specific cheese
Indian rice and "chicken" nuggets (made from tofu) from food bar
Fresh squeezed orange juice and beet juice

Although the chain grocery store here now carries a lot of the things I go to whole food so I usually just go to the grocery store unless I feel like getting the "whole food experience" - I like the fact you can also dine in at whole foods and get a quality ambiance while eating. There is only one, maybe 2, chain grocery stores I'd actually eat there.

Every time I walk into a Whole Foods, even if I'm determined to buy something, I get so disgusted by their prices that I turn around and walk back out. These days, I'm a Costco + Trader Joe's girl.

It's such a fun store for eye candy and health inspiration though!

I only really get my Lafe's natural deodorant there now. Most of my food is bought at Trader Joe's, a small natural foods store, or farmer's market. I kinda hate Whole Foods since it's so overpriced.

I like their meat and fish selections the most. Well and the bakery, although I find their desserts to be more pretty than they are tasty. I hate going though because my closest one is in a really annoying section of town and it's always packed. Fortunately being in Socal there is so much healthy stuff available everywhere, there's nothing I get in WF that I can ONLY get there. But it is nice to have it all in one spot.

    I'm definitely a Trader Joe's convert.
Sadly, both stores are no where to be found in My current town.
*I moved to one of My first apartments because it was across the street from Whole Foods...well, it was called Mrs. Gooches way back then. It was the only health food store in the entire city, and I was a vegetarian back then.

The vegan cheese section omggggg. Ordered a couple cookies out of a display, they were average. Going to go back soon for deodorant and personal care items. It's times like these I really miss the Rainbow Grocery co-ops. I do like the fish section and section with lowcal healthier popcicles, which is something Rainbow never had.

I looovvveee Whole Foods! I'm vegan so I do a lot of shopping there. I buy my produce at Publix and get everything else at Whole Foods, because the produce prices at Whole Foods are insane -- last time I was there I saw some pre-cut and packaged pineapple that was calling my name; I couldn't find a price tag but I figured it wouldn't be more than $6.00 or so. Imagine my surprise when I looked over my receipt later and saw that the pineapple costed $12.99

Anyway, at Whole Foods I usually buy pasta (they have a spaghetti made from spinach and artichoke that's amazing), marinara sauce, shiitake noodles, soba noodles, rice paper rolls, soy milk (or coconut, or hemp, or almond...whatever I'm in the mood for), Amy's organic soups, Ezekiel flax bread or raisin bread, dark chocolate, etc.

I try to keep my diet low in fat and steer away from the processed vegan foods, but I'm human and sometimes I like a treat. On those occasions, I will buy chocolate coconut milk, Daiya mac 'n' cheese, Daiya cheese pizza, Follow Your Heart vegan cheese, etc. I've also seen vegan cookie dough and coconut whipped cream at my Whole Foods, but most days I just can't bring myself to buy junk food - lol.

Oh, and the natural beauty products!!

During the holidays I like going there for their Tofurky Roast, Silk Nog, and vegan pumpkin pie. And I love the "Follow Your Heart" vegan cheese too! <3 Also, their 365 products are reasonably priced.

Speaking of vegan cheese stuff. Omg. Amy's vegan and gluten free mac and cheese tastes like regular mac and cheese. So good. Hits the spot when you want comfort food. I eat it with a side of Quorn brand vegan chicken pattie. So yummy.

Being a New Yorker, everything is expensive but when Wholefoods puts their Australian Lamb loin on sale I stock up!! Also, KindBars are cheapest at Wholefoods and they are so convenient when you are on the go and get hungry.

I love the fuck out of kind bars. There's only like 5 ingredients, all healthy, and they don't spike blood sugar.
