    Default Favorite Smoothie Recipes

What are your favorite juice/smoothie/concoction recipes that you make in your blender, ninja, bullet etc.?

I have a Vitamix, it took a long time to get and nowadays I hardly ever use it.
My basic green smoothie recipe is a bunch of spinach (kale if I'm feeling bold), frozen peaches, some apple juice, a splash of vanilla extract and a tiny pinch of salt (to enhance flavor).

I make a really good one. Strawberries (frozen or add ice), half a banana, 1 cup of spinach, chia or flax seeds, unsweetened vanilla coconut milk, and vegan nutrient (with pea protein) powder in vanilla. There's a really good chocolate one too that's good with peanut butter and bananas but it's definitely much higher in calories. Both are so good! First one tastes like a strawberry milkshake and the second one tastes like a choc PB shake!

A vitamix that you don't use! Girrrrl! I am so jealous. I'm considering getting fake married to my boyfriend so that we can put that on our fake wedding registry.

My go to smoothie is a mix of berries (blueberry, strawberry and raspberry usually), fresh OJ, frozen banana and flax or chia. It's not too exciting but it's refreshing and easy to do.

I also do a green smoothie with spinach, avacado, vegan milk of some kind, maple syrup and a banana.

Occasionally if I want something with a shit tonne of protein I will do a chocolate soy milk, peanut butter, Sun Warrior protein in chocolate and banana. It tastes like a chocolate peanut butter treat!

    That would be awesome! LOL!!!
I know, I feel so guilty! I had $400 worth of gift cards to pottery barn sitting around forever and was thinking, so I can get a chair or... then I found out you can use them at Williams Sonoma. So I sauntered in like Yassss! I'll take that one. Let those "nutrient extraction" infomercials tell it, healthy people with glowing skin and tons of energy make shakes every day and I want to be one of those people.

I make protein ice cream in my Ninja:

    1 scoop/serving protein powder
    .25 or .5 small avocado
1 cup (or more) frozen berries
just enough water (or almond milk) to make sure I blend into ice cream and not a smoothie

    I just bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Nutrex-Hawaii-...dp/B0039ITKR4/

I *love* it. It's a super-scary, dark-green, highly pigmented powder. BUT...I can hardly taste it at all in my smoothies, and it has a creamy smoothness that is not even close to offensive. None of that "rotting greens" smell or flavor. Just clean green with a creaminess that I've never experienced with any green supplement. It blends perfectly into my smoothies (I just have a food processor) with no grittiness.

My recipe with what I have on hand:
    -2 bananas
    -2 cups sweet cherries (Costco!)
    -2 heaping spoonfuls of Spirulina
-2 heaping spoonfuls of Greek yogurt
-Add almond milk to desired consistency

I'll make smoothies with whatever I have in the fridge but normally I'll put in kale, spinach, banana, berries (strawberries or raspberries), green apple and water. I freeze most of my fruit so I don't have to add ice too. I love my nutri bullet but it's hard fitting all that good stuff into it! Also, any smoothie with a granny smith apple in it is SO good.

Handful of kale, handful of blueberries, scoop of Maca Root powder, spirulina, 2 teaspoons chia seeds, 2 teaspoons flax seeds, coconut milk, water, half a banana. Yum. Or banana, kale (or spinach but kale is more nutritious), peanut butter, and the coconut, water, chia, maca etc

Recently I've been trying to up my fruit intake and include fruits that aren't so high calorie (ones i don't tend to like haha) so adding in red berries, apples, melon etc. I throw in a vegan multivitamin and some nuts sometimes as well. It's fun to experiment

Was this the protein ice cream you were talking about in the other thread? Looks great! I'm surprised there is no banana in it. What's your favorite protein powder for this, taste-wise? I'm super picky and pretty much all I use is unflavored whey, so I wonder if that's what you use here since you didn't specify a flavor?

I have this Spirulina. Good stuff. Barely taste it, like you said.

Since I have the flu, mine has been...

Frozen Pineapple, apple, ginger, a bit of lime, Spirulina. Def has helped with energy.

Yesterday, I ran out of apple so it was just pineapple/mango and Spirulina.

Trader Joe's cocoa powder and a few dashes of cinnamon in my vegan vanilla shake with some ice. Simple and yummy.
