Default Looking to dance in Las Vegas - first audition did not go well :(

    Hey lovelies!

I went to audition at Sapphire here in Las Vegas. And to say the least it wasn't a great experience. I went to the reception desk in the back where the dancers check in. The guy working was a soft spoken dick. He acted like I was wasting his time. He asked if I had ever danced before and I replied and said no. He then asked "really? you've never danced before" and I once again said no. He told me to go change into two piece so he could "see my mid section". I had all my bags packed and was fully prepared to work the whole night if he said I was good to go. I went and changed and walked out in my heels and a two piece. Of course the lighting in the reception area was shitty but I was still confident. He told me to stand there and face him, then he told me to turn around. After that he told me that didn't have any opportunities for me at this time. And being the professional but rather direct person I am I asked him for feedback as to why I didn't meet their criteria. He said in his pathetic mousy voice "You're fat and really need to lose a lot of weight". I then politely said "Well I appreciate the feedback" with a smile and walked off to change. I was mortified. And let me just say. I am not a stick. I am about 5'10' without heels on, I am an athlete I compete in strongman and powerlifting competitions so I am muscular but have thick muscular legs and a pretty nice ass for a white girl. I have fake tits and my stomach isn't shredded but its flat. I understand I might not look like the standard dancer but why wouldn't a club want diversity? I want to go audition for other clubs but that was pretty tough to take. Rather embarrassing :( Any advice would be soon helpful. Thanks dolls!!! Here are some pictures of me. The only real advice I can think to give you is to try day shift auditions at mid-tier clubs. You have a beautiful face, but I think you're going to struggle a little bit at auditions out here at your current size. I can definitely see the muscle in your legs, but if your legs are bigger from muscle... it's even more important to not be carrying any extra fat. It's summer right now and clubs can afford to be picky because they don't NEED girls, so...

That's the standard Sapphire audition. My first time there they denied me, I came back 2 days later wearing a different outfit and the same guy that denied me hired me. Vegas can be weird. That being said, you are larger than the majority of girls I've worked with in Vegas clubs.

I agree with DesuvsDeath on trying mid-tier clubs. Dayshift or maybe the late/am shift. I've seen many girls that don't fit stereotypical dancer type coming in at 4am when I was leaving. You're face is beautiful but with your tall, muscular stature hiring managers may find you somewhat intimidating.

Try not to let audition rejection get you down, its just a part of the process. Good luck on your club search!

You're beautiful and clearly in shape, but you have a number of things working against you, here.

    1) Short, shaved hair.
    2) "Thick" body type (whether it's muscle, fat, or a healthy combination of both, it doesn't really matter to some clubs - your overall look is "thick", which I'm guessing isn't Sapphire's thing)
    3) Tattoos. You have some extensive work on your back.

I'm guessing that, in many cities, you would do better in a club that caters more to an "urban" clientele (what euphemism is politically correct on SW these days?). Otherwise known as a black club. I can imagine that if you have dancing / pole skills, people would love to make it rain on you!

Have you considered any of the other clubs, simply based on where your look would be most successful? Smaller clubs don't always have less money. Are there any smaller clubs that are close to the big clubs - thus resulting in a flow of curious customers from the heavily advertised club to the lesser known club? Any clubs that are smaller but more accessible to people staying in popular areas (like, by convention centers)?

I'm definitely not insulting you by suggesting you look for a smaller club. I work in a city that has plenty of clubs, only a few of which are widely known / advertised, and I don't work in any of those clubs. I bank working in a club that isn't saturated with girls, is accessible due to its proximity to highways, and fits my 'look.'

TL,DR: Even though you may think you want to work at Sapphire's, you may make far money elsewhere (regardless of whether Sapphire's hires you or not).

I think no dancer can say that all her auditions were succesful; there are clubs for different clientelles, so don't be afraid about kncking some other place's door; perhaps the most wonderful club is the next one and it may not be the biggest nor the most advertised place around. Don't let anyone to dent your confidence.

Side note; down here, we do not have the concept of "urban" clubs; what is that? In Mexico we can only classify according the dress code (or lack thereof), the distance from downtown, the management shadiness, and the "acts sbeyond just dancing" that can be sold there (we don't call them extras because they are not illegal down the border).

crazy horse 3 is the nicest/biggest place i know of in vegas that is *somewhat* forgiving of alternative styles and thicker body types. they might put you on the 4am or day shift but it's worth a shot.

The larger clubs in Vegas like skinny skinny girls, try day shift or a smaller club

I second the opinion to try out urban (black) clubs. That's the first thing I thought when I saw your pictures. You'd stand out being white, and your shaved haircut moreso fits that environment. Urban clubs are tattoo friendly too. Looks like you have quite a bit of muscle to be able to perform pole tricks as well. There's plenty of money to be made in urban environments if you figure out the hustle. You already have the body type so it shouldn't be too hard. Stay positive and good luck!

You have a beautiful face. And you're clearly in great shape. Don't let that audition get you down. Almost all dancers get turned down at one club or more. You have to take the advice on here. Move on from that bad experience. And go hit up other clubs.

You literally went after one of the biggest named clubs in Vegas - so don't feel bad or take it personally! As someone who has never danced before, you should be super proud of yourself. And just like what everyone said - just cause they didn't book you doesn't mean you can't be a profitable stripper! The goal is to find YOUR club, not just try to be at the club everyone else talks about

I personally love your body. It's very "warrior princess" you have amazing muscle definiton in your back and legs. However, the bigger Vegas clubs usually have a different look they are going for. i also recommend trying something more mid tier. I've heard of girls with a look similar to yours who got turned down at sapphire and spearmint rhino getting in at deja vu and hustler. those are worth a try.

^ You're bod is VERY similar to mine except I'm nowhere as toned. I used to work at Sapphire yrs ago when I was too skinny in my opinion. I'm around 5'8'' and usually wear a dress to auditions bc it shows the mngr that if I am a thicker girl then I can somewhat camoflauge it with a sexy dress that hugs and accenuates my curves. You look awesome btw! My advice would be to try a mid tier place like the vu or even crazy horse 3 wearing a tiny mini dress of some sort and see what they say. I have a very strong personality so I'd prob be forcing them to give me a shift lol, it's always a plus when you know how to talk to people. Always say you've danced before as well! That could've very well been why he didn't hire you right away. Good luck!

You're so beautiful, you'll have that no matter how much weight you lose or gain. You look like I did at my heaviest and I made A LOT, despite being one of the biggest girls on nights. The bottoms you're wearing cut into your hips and don't look good on anyone. Try something lacy-way stretcher-or boy shorts. Body wraps are also awesome and can really install-fix anyone's midsection, assuming the time and money isn't an issue. If I were you, I'd try mid tier club's or dives, dress more flattering-corsets, lace, etc., and you'll find stripping is pretty good exercise. Good luck and yes, that guy is a dickhead who could have answered your question a million different ways to be less offensive.

You can't wear mini dresses for auditions out here anymore. At least not anywhere that I've gone into in the last two years.
Two piece + heels. Glance at you for half a second and send you to the office to do your paper work. Or send you on your way, as the case may be.

I'm not a stripper so maybe I'm talking out of sorts, possibly over my head at the risk of looking like an idiot but....

1* You are pretty, don't let anyone telling you otherwise pressure you into feeling you need to look a certain way, that's how all the eating problems etc start.

2* by the look of the replies you got I think it is pretty much like the webcam industry, it's not so much about what you look like, but where you go and making your look work for you by finding the place you fit in best, the top reason most people can't say the best site, cause it's not the same for everyone, just keep trying, who know the club that rejected you might have you as a nr1 someday....
The fact people had other club suggestions indicates your look will suit somewhere, remember there's a market for everything and everyone. I'm no skinny, athletic, top model, if anything I'd say I'm slightly under average, but in one day camming made $100....

3* last but maybe the most important lesson I've ever been taught was from my mother

"in order to be a good horse rider you need to learn to fall and get back up again, or else the fear of falling will forever hold you back, to know you can fall and get back up again will bring you confidence and knowledge not only on how to get up, but also on how to fall with the least damage" something like that and it's one of my mottos now in life

You might not have gone in the direction you want, but when there's no set path, the road doesn't matter as long as the destination is great. The club might not be the one you wanted but hopefully you'll find the one to lead to your dreams...

Sapphire is run by a bunch of assholes, seriously. I had a similar situation where I auditioned one day got denied came back a month later and got hired by the same guy! Not only that, I said screw this and went to another club the same night and got hired. The thing about Vegas is that it's fickle. Just keep trying... and don't take it personally.
