    Default Considering Stripping...Lame Excuses

Okay so I'm considering stripping but I don't know if I can. I'm not in shape (working on it) nor do I have upper body strength. I told another girl that used to be a stripper this and she told me that not having upper body strength was a lame excuse. Is this true?!

Has any one ever given you a lame excuse for NOT stripping?!

You only need upper body strength if you're doing pole tricks, which are not necessary in 95%+ of clubs

^I was going to say the same. Even if you do learn pole tricks you'll build your body strength up as you learn, but pole work isn't even necessary to make $. You don't need upper body strength to give lap dances.

Depending on how "thick " you are, you might have to start in lower level clubs ( this is just a reality of the business ). Really though ... there is no better work out than getting PAID to do it and you'll lose weight just from dancing. If it's something you want to do, just do it ! I'm a retired dancer who still misses getting paid to exercise.

I have zero upper body strength despite dancing for six years, so yeah, it's a lame excuse. You really don't need it to make money. SuperJa is right that it's only necessary for pole tricks, and those are also not necessary to make money outside of urban or stage-centric clubs.

    Definitely a lame excuse.

However, a lack of confidence isn't a lame excuse. If losing 5-10 lbs or waiting until after a hair appointment will result in a high level of confidence, then I think it makes sense to wait a bit. You just need to be able to recognize the difference between legitimate excuses (like, if you're clearly overweight right now) vs. bullshit excuses (like, if you're a perfectionist who wants to lose a bit of weight to look perfect, but you actually look fantastic as you are).

I couldn't even pretend to do a pushup when I first started dancing. I was coming straight from a desk job after being a student who did nothing more than sit on her ass behind a computer -- for PE, I took a health class where I read a text book and wrote papers. I was puny as.

Strength in general is something you develop as you go. When I first started, I had no idea how to give a lapdance, so I just kind of squatted between customers' legs and moved my hips in figure 8s. But I was so out of shape, I couldn't do that for more than a few seconds, so at that point, I'd hold myself up on the chair arms. The songs always ended right when my arms began to shake. I seriously had no body strength at all. There was not a spec of muscle on me. Over time, I got stronger. My legs got used to doing squats. My abs snuck up on me until one day I was suddenly able to do things it never occurred to me to even dream of someday being able to do. Same with my arms. Last I checked, push ups were a pipe dream. Next thing I know, I'm in a pull-up competition with another dancer, and I'm climbing up a pole without any help from my legs -- somewhere along the way, I gained a lot of physical strength. And it all happened in a few months without me really trying. I never hardcore set out to build strength like that. I just started out struggling to do anything, and then slowly, gradually, I got better and better. I tried new moves in lap dances, experimented with using the pole as a prop more than a balance aid, and somewhere in all that, muscle just happened. If a wimp like me can pull it off, you'll probably be just fine.

i've been dancing for years and still can only do a few very basic pole moves. my legs are super muscular from all the squatting during lap dances (because that's really how you make money), but up top i've got nada.

however.. the fact that you're feeling the need to make excuses might be a good enough reason not to do it. why are you making excuses?

i know personally i made a lot of "excuses" not to start for a while just because i was nervous/scared and it was silly. i wish i did it sooner.

are you doing it because of your financial situation? do you really want to be a stripper or do you feel like you need to be to make money fast? if that's the case then maybe rethink it. otherwise forget the excuses and just give it a go

I feel like it would be fun. I even started practicing dance moves in my room...lol. My only concern really is losing weight because I went on the website and all the girls look super skinny...like Barbie's. I'm 5'0 175 and most of my weight is in my abs 😩. I guess I can always wear some type of sexy shaper to concealer it. Maybe I can even contour it w make up. The only reason left NOT for me to do it (and its irrelevant at this point) is my grandma. I still live w her but not for free.

Knowing how petty and money hungry she is it will never be free so its not really up to her now is it??

I think that your weight is a valid concern and it may be hard for you to find a club that will take you at your current weight. Your grandma will most likely find out and that will be a major issue. You already escort? How have you kept that a secret thus far?

She's not street smart so as long as I don't make it super obvious I'm good. I'm going to post a pic of me so you all can get an idea of what I look like
