Next year they will start test on human men a shot that will keep sperm from leaving the body for up to a year. It is reversible. But it's injected into the penis directly.

If they inject anything into my penis it will take at least a year to get over it.
"Well done. Here are the test results: You are a horrible person. I'm serious, that's what it says: 'A horrible person.' We weren't even testing for that."

Hopefully in the future they'll develop a less invasive method. I think this is awesome though - for one thing, contraception will no longer be just a women's issue! Also, double the safety, if both partners are taking it, is nice.

"
In its entry on irony, Dictionary.com describes sarcasm thus:
In sarcasm, ridicule or mockery is used harshly, often crudely and contemptuously, for destructive purposes. It may be used in an indirect manner, and have the form of irony, as in "What a fine musician you turned out to be!," "It's like you're a whole different person now...," and "Oh... Well then thanks for all the first aid over the years!" or it may be used in the form of a direct statement, "You couldn't play one piece correctly if you had two assistants." The distinctive quality of sarcasm is present in the spoken word and manifested chiefly by vocal inflection ...[6]
Distinguishing sarcasm from banter, and referring to the use of irony in sarcasm, Bousfield writes [7] that sarcasm is:
The use of strategies which, on the surface appear to be appropriate to the situation, but are meant to be taken as meaning the opposite in terms of face management. That is, the utterance which appears, on the surface, to maintain or enhance the face of the recipient actually attacks and damages the face of the recipient. ... sarcasm is an insincere form of politeness which is used to offend one's interlocutor.
John Haiman writes: "There is an extremely close connection between sarcasm and irony, and literary theorists in particular often treat sarcasm as simply the crudest and least interesting form of irony." Also, he adds:
First, situations may be ironic, but only people can be sarcastic. Second, people may be unintentionally ironic, but sarcasm requires intention. What is essential to sarcasm is that it is overt irony intentionally used by the speaker as a form of verbal aggression.[8]
While, Henry Watson Fowler writes:
Sarcasm does not necessarily involve irony. But irony, or the use of expressions conveying different things according as they are interpreted, is so often made the vehicle of sarcasm ... The essence of sarcasm is the intention of giving pain by (ironical or other) bitter words.[9]"

Good. With male birth control men who don't like condoms can still share the responsibility for family planning and have no excuse to complain how unfair it is to have to pay for kids that got here by "accident" or relying on the woman to take pill every day.
“Cook for him like a housewife, fuck him good like a nympho….pay the rent and the car note, he invests in me like crypto”

Bleh, bleh, bleh. How're the Snakes?

Exactly. There will be no shortage of irrational horny Dudes who will still be fucking raw, they'll complain they can't or won't take a male birth control shot because it's in their penis, and probably the same amount of unplanned kids will make it here as a result despite having options to take control of their family planning themselves.
Also someone mentioned above this could just promote condomless sex without regard to stds. People who use this would still be wise to wear condoms as well as a backup (especially if either party is not monogamous) to prevent pregnancy AND STDs
“Cook for him like a housewife, fuck him good like a nympho….pay the rent and the car note, he invests in me like crypto”

It's not sexist like that, it's true. Trust if you have the female experience you've had dudes literally begging to fuck and 90% (or large majority) will eventually suggest to do it bare. No std check, no pussy check, just raw fucking.
I think many men 1) replicate porn which usually features raw sex 2) claim sensation is diminished wearing condoms and 3) blindly and foolishly trust their partners word to be disease free/hormonal bc or 4) too horny to care at the moment and want to go bare.
This is my experience at least.
But I do think you're right. Wise people will wear condoms in addition to any hormonal pills, male or female, to prevent both pregnancy and std

Great but none of them are gonna shoot up their dicks lol.
^^^^Kinda ironic how their shot is in their penis lol! And I'm guessing they numb the area so it won't even be felt. Besides, nothing women haven't had to endure (inserting IUDs, diaphragms, and all other sorts of contraptions shoved into our vaginas)
we should take a poll for those men who like to fuck raw.
Birth control shot in your penis or 100k plus on unplanned pregnancy/incurable std and see which one they choose. But I think you're right. The thought of a needle to the penis, even with numbing local anesthetic, is enough to make any person cringe.

It has been cold for snakes. They are in the lodge by the fire, sipping brandy.
I think it's a good idea. Even though it may not be perfect, it's the step in the right direction to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Plus it's not discouraging the use of condoms. Couldn't you use that same logic with female birth control? That a woman on birth control is less likely to use a condom? Male birth control is another form of contraception, not a hit at condom usage.

You're probably not familiar but from my experience men will ask if the woman is on birthcontrol (hormonal) so they can 1) prevent pregnancy because they want to go in raw. They're not thinking rationally about STDs or the fact a woman can STILL get pregnant if the pill is not taken same time every day or other medications taken interact with the pill.
This would be similar story for male hormonal birth control. They'd be begging to fuck raw cause their on male birth control.
I am thinking the men on this forum are older and more wise and mature but a large percentage of the younger adults (say 17-25) who are young, dumb, and full of cum will be fucking raw indiscriminately and foolishly thinking the hormonal birth control will protect them if they decide to go in bare.
I will say nothing wrong with going in raw when you're on birth control AND in a long term monogamous relationship. However there is a large subset of people (specifically men) who do what I described above and are not monogamous nor in long term committed relationships.
Std are more prevalent among this age group for a reason. Similar to what cfmnh said - young people "be wise with your sexual escapades"

I think I'll stick with condoms.

I wouldn't trust a guy if he said he'd had the shot
I'd only trust if if I literally see them getting it.
