Default would wearing your hair in different styles mess up your money?

I know we've touched on this in other threads but I believe we haven't had a thread strictly about earnings with different styles (not color or cut/length to a degree)

so I always wear my hair down at work, just because i always want to attract the most guys (duh lol)

but it's really annoying and time consuming, not to mention damaging, to always style my hair straight/wavy/curly and wear it down. And I'm already taking all short cuts on that.

So I would LOVE to be able to wear it in a braid sometimes or a long, high-ish ponytail but i would NOT want this to interfere with my money.

    WHat are your experiences?

I've seen girls wear their hair in high buns, 'homeless style up-do' and other crazy stuff and from my observation it didn't go over too well with customers.

I remember one time i had these horrible tangly extensions put in and my replacement extensions weren't coming in for a few weeks. So i started wearing my hair in a french braid or a side braid and it went over really well with customers. Even when i got the new extensions put in i would still do half up half down looks with braids. I have short hair now and sometimes ill throw a little braid in it but i feel it's more effective with longer hair

I tend to wear my hair in a high-ish pony tail/up-do, and then use it as an incentive to go to VIP or get a long chain of dances. After they take me to X room, or spend $X on me, I let down/let them let down my hair and run their fingers through it. Up-dos work better for me than than ponytails for that/selling VIPs, though, because of what Crystalize mentioned. If your hair's already down, it's already down. If it's up on top of your head, it's an area where guys can feel like they're taking an extra step within the fantasy, getting something 'more' and 'extra,' but without actually breaking any laws/violating any body parts. If it's in a high ponytail, it's already kind of a sexy/slutty look, so it's not as exciting as a 'professional' woman who clearly needs to relax and let her hair down for a bit. Your over all look will impact it, too. I work with a girl who goes for the teacher/secretary look, and she rocks the glasses, low heels, and up-do. Not sure how well an up-do on it's own will do if you don't have something professional to pair with it so you can target a niche fetish. Or you could go school girl/country bumpkin and wear pig tails. But without a fetish to attach with it, ymmv by quite a lot.

hair up vs. down doesn't seem to make a big difference. i've had guys ask me to put my hair in a ponytail or pigtails (ew), and i've also had guys ask me to take my hair down when it was up. it's just a preference i think. i would guess that more guys prefer it down, but it's not a deal breaker or anything for most.

only thing that ever hurt my money was when i had my extensions out for a while. i had a bad experience trying to find a good salon in a new town, and some lady fried my hair off, so it looked really trashy and bad until i got the new extensions. i think as long as your hair looks healthy and nice it doesn't matter. ratty extensions, grown out roots, frizzy unkempt hair etc. are probably the only kinds of things that would really hurt you.

I always made great money with pigtails, but wouldn't really do anything but those or leave it down because it just looks more glamorous in my opinion. No offense! If I was a guy, I'd take whoever had the longest hair and it was down. It's actually a psychological thing related to sex. Like if an attacker cuts off a woman's hair, he's trying to kill her sexuality.

I think as long as your hair is clean, well-styled, and feminine, wearing your hair up vs. down won't make a huge difference in your money. I've seen high buns, sleek ponytails, and loose braids look great on others girls, but personally I feel more confident with my hair down. This is mostly because I suck at doing hair (I'm having my hair styled at a blow dry bar as I type this - lol).

Older men (50+), love hair up. One of my older regulars kept begging me to put my hair up. He never got to see it.

I did it once bc I didn't feel like washing my hair, and I did not feel sexy. I love hair twirling and flipping. It's part of the flirt. For me at least.

I've had mixed experiences. I usually always wear my hair down but once I was feeling really lazy so I put my hair in a little slicked back bun without my extensions in and customers loved it. The regular customers liked it the most maybe because they were used to seeing me with my hair down so much I looked like a different dancer with my hair up lol. I've also worn my hair up in different ways and had bad nights so who knows. I think I look better with my hair down but some girls can really pull off the sleek ponytails or messy buns and look really sexy so if that's you then go for it. I'm jealous of those girls! lol

I always made more with my hair up in a ponytail. No idea why...I think I talked about it another thread. Someone said it makes you look like you've been "busy." My husband's theory was that it looks like you're not trying too hard/don't care, which turns guys on. I've had VIPs with guys who have ponytail fetishes (didn't know that was a thing before stripping.) Just experiment with different styles. I think the long, high ponytail is super sexy if you have the right face for it. Maybe pair some cute dangle earrings with it too.

It's annoying but hair down is going to appeal to the most customers. I hate doing my hair but it makes me money for sure, guys are always commenting on it. I've experimented with no heat styles but it's so humid in Florida that I haven't had much luck with it. Maybe it would work for you though? My hair is so thick and wavy it gets frizzy and weird when I don't use heat.

How is wearing hair down damaging?? I would imagine the stress of tight braids , hair elastics, etc are much more damaging..unless you're talking about styling that hair with heat.
IME, hair down usually wins with the majority of stripclub patrons, and unless you have killer facial features it's going to be much more flattering than more severe up dos. Same for super short hair. It just has a way of softening the face I guess.

Sometimes I'll do pigtails and ponytails depending on the outfit. Most of the time it is down and I wear bows and ribbons or its up with clips.

    Love the username lol

& I agree...I have a round/angual face so my long straight hair makes me look better & brings more definition to my facial profile. Plus customers love to touch hair or feel it brush on them, it's part of the dance experience that cannot be termed as breaking contact rules.

That's another thing. I prefer a guy touch my hair rather than my body. Actually, better if he didn't touch jack shit. Anyway, it's partially why I got rid of my extensions. Men loved to caress my hair even more. Dodging them from touching the tracks was getting annoying and tiring.

OP - what does your hair do naturally? What would your hair look like if you just showered and let it air-dry before work?

I'd recommend working with your natural hair texture by adding a serum / cream / mousse before work and just letting it do its thing. It will probably more closely resemble the "sex-hair" look that guys love most. Slightly disheveled.

it's funny you say this today, because i am convinced i have to do something with it. it's too fine but i really really hate the feeling of clip ins.

last night, when my hair looked especially shitty, i contemplated what all of the top earners i know have in common: nice hair (besides other things. and i'm not saying it's a requirement but i guess it makes it easier). i used to always wear long extensions and i definitely made more money but that was years ago and now it just really bothers me to the point that i cannot make money and have to take the hair out at work.

I sometimes (when I'm too lazy to do my hair) wear one of those big long fake ponytails... the ones you put your hair in a bun and wrap the pony over it. Zero effort and keeps the long thick hair fantasy. I have found long long long hair is the single biggest moneymaker for me. My natural hair is pretty long, but I saw a big increase once I started wearing LONG LONG hair (think ass grazing). Doesn't matter how fake it looks. Dudes can't tell or don't care.

lol that's why i was asking because i can only tolerate my clip ins when they are in a braid or ponytail. I noticed they do like the long hair and you are right they don't care if it's fake

I've taken my extensions out before (5 bundles) and worn my natural hair for a few weeks and customers were ok with it but i noticed as soon as i put my weave back in my money went back up. I was just having a slow week i thought but nope it was the fact that i didn't have my long ass stripper hair

Men like my hair long, curled and down around my shoulders or up off my neck. When it is up, they love the elegant look it gives off. When it is down, it is sexy and playful with curls.
As long as your hairstyle looks good on you, men will most likely love it.

I think as long as it looks good, you should try it and see how receptive customers are to it. I always wear my hair down at work, usually straight but sometimes I'll wear it curly and just add a lot of hairspray so the curls stay loose and wavy without getting frizzy. But usually I just wear it straight. My hair is about 14" and I add 18" clip ins now.

I've thought about trying other styles, too, then I think if it ain't broke don't fix it. I would like to be a bit more creative, though!

I've thrown my hair into a ponytail many times during busy nights for the last hour or so, when I'm tired and my thick hair + the clip ins is too much, and I've never noticed a decrease in money when I do that.

I'm not at the weight I wanna be right now and my shoulders/back is my problem area that makes me look huge, so I wanna do the clip ins to balance me out, but I just. Can't.

I don't know how I was wearing extensions for so many years but they bother me so much now. I was thinking of putting clip ins and do a pony tail or braid when I feel a little skinnier and I'll let you know how it goes
