Sad Starting tomorrow! Any tips/motivation would be nice!

So last week, I got the job without even auditioning and I was really excited about it! But now that I finally have my outfit and shoes, I'm really nervous.
I'm nervous about giving the lap dances than actually selling them. I'm trying to be more confident in myself but my period is making me all self conscience and emotional :( lol

Any stories about your first night? Was it good or bad? How did you mentally prepare yourself? Any tips on how to give a good lap dance or any motivation would be really helpful!

Move slow. Pick slow sexy songs like Ashanti. Lap dances is just the same but with one person. Slower the better. Keep a smiling, people will think your in a happy mood. Noone wants to dance with a sad or grumpy dancer. Confidence is huge even if it's fake. Have fun and dint forget to breathe! Good luck

Get there early and all prepared (makeup and hair done), don't spend too much time in the dressing room, be out on the floor working and hustling, be calm, be yourself, don't talk too much to other dancers or let them know too much about you (be polite though to keep the peace), smile and be flirty and playful with the customers, introduce yourself and ask him if he's in the mood for some fun today.

Then bring up dances, tell him all about the dances your club offers and mention you are available and that you'd love to give him one. If you get a dance, just be slow and sensual. *Find out your club rules in regards to contact during lapdances** if you're allowed to touch and its full contact, I would do a lot of grinding, and soft, gentle caressing during the dance. But take it slow at first and try to enjoy it (or just act like you are). Good luck!!!

Just try to have fun! Don't take it too seriously or focus on the money your first night. Try to talk to as many different guys as you can to get used to it; smile and flirt but don't linger with anyone too long. Tell everyone you're new so you get that new girl $$!

My first night, I almost booked it out the door, high heels and all, when the DJ called my name to go up on stage for my audition. I forgot how to breathe and got total tunnel vision. Felt like I was about to pass out, lol. I went in with a friend who'd been in the industry a while, and for every panicked "Ican'tdothis" I rushed out, she had an equally calm and reassuring "Yes you can, you can do this," all while gesturing to the stage. I was still sputtering frantic, one line speeches as I walked up to the stage. I'd gotten my first actual pair of heels (and dancer heels, no less, talk about sink or swim!) the night before and was doing good just to stand in them. The whole time my friend was auditioning (she went first, right ahead of me) I was holding on to the wall to help stabilize myself and trying to remember to breathe. I held onto the pole the entire time and tried to move at least a little bit so it at least looked like I was dancing, kinda. By some miracle, I got hired, though, and when I came down from the stage, I was riding the biggest adrenaline rush of my life. It was awesome.

In addition to forgetting every dance move I'd practiced for my stage audition (but yay for getting hired anyway!), I had no idea how to give a lap dance when I first started. My above mentioned friend showed me a couple examples, but she operated with a sexy smoothness I couldn't even begin to dissect enough to recreate, not at first. She was also able to do some amazing things, like stand in high heels with her head tilted up to face the ceiling as she turned in a slow, belly dancer-esque circle, something I couldn't even start to try to do without feeling like I was about to fall and break my neck. My early lap dance attempts consisted pretty much entirely of 1) awkward squatting between a customer's legs and attempting hip figure 8s to "grind" the air above their crotch (I was so out of shape I couldn't hold the squat for more than a few seconds before falling on the customer/needing to use the arms of the chair to hold myself up... again, only a few seconds before my arms got tired and I had to change again) and 2) standing upright in front of them, facing them, and rocking more hip figure 8s for as long as I thought I could get away with before I risked boring them and needing to go back to squats.

Those were my two moves at first. It's a wonder I sold any dances at all at first, but playing the "new girl" card helped a ***lot***. Watch the other girls and see what they do. Everyone will have a different lap dance/arsenal of moves in their collection, so feel free to find the things you like best and feel most comfortable with and use them to create your own style. It might take some time for you to gain some smoothness and grace, but you'll get there. In the meantime, just remember to move slow. Most things you can do in a lap dance will look ten times better if you slow it down.

Fwiw, this video helped a lot when it came to figuring out a super basic idea of "how to lap dance": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq974WY5dGo

I had my first day yesterday I was a nervous train wreck lol. My club is sooo corporate, they give me a wrist band stating I was under 21 so I couldn't drink and I really was turning to patron shots to calm my nerves :S I went to the DJ booth and told him my fav genres of music so he wouldn't fuck up my stage set. My first dance was to an older white man, he bought 2. I broke the ice by asking the simple "do you come here a lot" and returned their answer with "well it's my first day but I really like the club". They seemed to be intrigued by me being new and I asked if I could "practice" with them, they felt so honored lol. Stage sets was ok idk pole tricks but I slid up and down the pole, twerked my booty, and did minimum floor work. I made $267 after tip out. A lot of girls were saying they made 600 and calling it a bad night but I was just excited I made a profit goodluck you're going to do great I'm sure!

Thanks for the advice everyone! The stories really helped as well! Overall I had a pretty good day. I went in the morning and even though it was incredibly slow, I managed to make $280 after tip out so I'm pretty happy about that :~)
