Thumbs up Finally had my first day!

Or night! It started off kinda rocky - I was told in an email that I could audition at this one really nice club near me, but then I showed up all ready to go (at ~9pm on a Friday... I know, I was so naive.) Turns out, they DO have audition hours. I don't know why I was told otherwise, but lesson learned: always CALL first

I did manage to find a club nearby that would ("maybe"!) be able to let me audition so last-minute. And all the staff was so nice! The owner & housemom put me to work right away, and I slowly, over the course of the night, got used to things! I was dead nervous & had no idea what to do at first, but stage is fun & casual and dances aren't so bad, either.

Stuff like people trying to touch my pussy or butthole is weird, or trying to kiss me (wtf?) but for the most part, people aren't so bad! The worst was this one guy at my stage who seemed friendly/into me at first, gave me his number (lol), but then when I asked about meeting up after, got SO offended/shocked. Saying stuff about how "it was a sales pitch all long!" It was so bizarre!

Besides that, I'm just dealing with super bruised knees & veeery sore legs. Hopefully that will get easier!

Congratulations!!! In a sea of "I'm thinking about dancing" and "Answer a hundred of my questions before I even step foot into the club" threads by curious guests who never update, it's always SO nice to hear from someone who took the plunge!!

    Keep us updated, okay?

Thank you, girl!! I definitely will keep you updated, I feel like I can trulyy appreciate this site now! And I don't even wanna go back through my post history to the hundred questions... I'm pretty sure I inquired about only wanting to do stage, and not dances.

Welcome to the most noble and most loyal order of the garter (lace garter, nevertheless still a garter). Like most of us, you will eventually think on your previous hesitation as product of naivety.

Grats on the first night! It's good to hear that it went so well for you. Regarding the legs -- they'll get more toned than you ever thought they could be, and soon you'll be using them to appear weightless on poles and stages and laps and chairs. Your whole body will tone up and your strength will sneak up on you -- assuming you aren't buff already, that is.

Regarding the knees -- try to stay off them as much as possible when it comes to floor work. When you squat, make sure you keep good posture so you don't strain them too much. You might get used to the knee pain to some extent on a day-to-day basis, but the damage will still be accumulating there and the pain will still be a thing. If you take care of your knees, you'll be fine. If you run them into the ground, though, you might be able to reverse some damage after you stop dancing, but depending on how long you danced and how rough you were, the bulk of the damage might be permanent.

Nuts and cheese are two things you can include in your diet to help your joints out, as well as making sure you stay hydrated -- like, really well hydrated, whether you're working or not. Your days off are the days your body can focus on healing, so take care of it then, too. In theory, you should be drinking about a gallon a day, but depending on your level of physical activity/alcohol consumption, you might/probably want to drink more.

Glucosamine -- This is probably going to be your best friend, next to Aleve. They take roughly a month on average of consistent use for your body to display tangible, measurable results, give or take per person/situation. So, taking them a month or so at a time is totally fine. That said, you don't want to take them every day as just a matter of habit for months/years at a time, because long term constant use can trip up your thyroid and do some damage there later down the line. Doesn't make much sense to fix one issue if it's just going to cause another, potentially bigger one later.

Heres to many awesome nights to come!

Also make sure to include enough healthy fat in your diet. Joint pain is a complaint for many who don't consume enough fat. This has made a difference for me lately!
