That was such a shock yesterday. Of all the people. I mean there are some people you're just like - they're over due their expiration dates. But him. Damn. They said he just started writing his memoirs and that he must have seen it coming. How sad. He was just everything. The perfect entertainer. Talented, genius musician. Sexy Mother Fucker- you couldn't not look at him. I remember seeing him when MTV first started playing music videos. Then he came out with Purple Rain. Phenomenal!!! He was like a superhero in heels. My husband couldn't believe he was only 5'2". That's because his personality was larger than life. He never appeared small. ( I never saw him in concert)
I thought it was really sad that because he affiliated with the Jehovas Witnesses that he couldn't get the hip replacement surgeries he needed.
Just such a loss. R.I.P Prince

Prince died in his elevator.
I don't know why, but this upsets me the most.
Such an icon, such an undignified way to go.
Idk, the whole thing seems surreal to me.
It hasn't really sunk in yet.![]()

This what Mayte Garcia (Prince's first wife) had to say: It made me cry!

Prince wrote lots of songs for other artists.

It looks like Whitney Houston and daughter were big Prince fans.

Check this guy just POUND the Guitar. He was a hell of a musician.

If you want some of his most interesting underground stuff, go to You Tube and do a search on uploads posted in the past week. GUUUUURL! I've been downloading like a beast for 2 days. I've gotten a wink of sleep but I've got concerts, foreign releases. I'm desperately searching for a copy o the Black Album, the one he forbid release of and was bootlegged! I had it back in the day and someone snatched it. It would be super fucking valuable today but....I'm trying not to even go there.

TBH, it's a real possibility that he took too much percocet and it knocked him out. He's had hip issues and y'all know how rough it is after a night of dancing hard but this dude had been doing it for 40 YEARS! He did shit like jumping off high speakers and falling to his knees for hours! It jacked up his joints. As much as I loved his performances, I wish he did less as he got older so we could still have him.
"I would give overwhelming odds that, tragically, this is a drug death," Cyril Wecht, a forensic pathologist who is not involved in Prince's case, told NBC's TODAY.
"When you rule out foul play, when there is no history of any kind of significant disease … heart and lung … when you rule out any kind of intervention, anything of an environmental nature, you come down to an autopsy that is essentially negative … and that probably means drugs," added Wecht, whose worked on some of the nation's most high-profile autopsies.
He said the emergency landing of the singer's private jet last week for a medical reason "fits into the drug picture."
"I cannot think of any medical or pathological condition that fits that kind of scenario, with incredible ups and downs … other than drugs," he added.
The death was "most regrettable," Wecht said.
The star, born Prince Rogers Nelson, was last seen by an acquaintance who dropped him off at the Paisley Park estate on Wednesday night around 8 p.m., Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said Friday.
Staff became concerned when they could not get in touch with Prince the next morning, and went to the residence to look for him. They found him "collapsed" in an elevator and called first responders who began CPR on Prince but were unable to revive him, Olson said.

I'm sure. Once I get back home, I'm going to be on it. But every time I see or hear something of his, it gets me super sad. It really hasn't sucken into me...
I think it was Seal who said it best..... "The best thing about Prince was you couldn't tell what genre his music was".
I agree. That's what made him so unique.

This is just too much. I cried, really cried. I was lucky enough to see him in 1988 on the Love Sexy Tour and I screamed like a school-girl all night! He was simply brilliant, live and on record. A unique talent and true musical genius.

I haven't been to work since he passed. Tonight, I'm rocking some purple shade in his honor.
I'm so grateful and happy to have been born in 81. I remember most of the entertainment around those years, him being one. Not only have I've been listening to his music, but other 80s stuff too. Dejavu, goodness. God, the 80s fucking ruled!! From music, movies, fashion, etc. What a fun time. It's good taking a flash back.
RIP Purple Angel.
Perfect music to end his journey. RIP. Good night.
I like being alone, I just don't like being lonely.

Shredding at its best. I'm really wondering what that Miles Davis compilation was like?

Interestingly, Michael Jackson's song "Bad" was originally intended to be a duet with Prince. It would have been if it wasn't for one lyric.

Please universe, stop killing all our great musicians.
I'm still shocked he's even dead. It still doesn't feel real. Like it wasn't supposed to happen.![]()
