I am from the US working & living in the EU. I've tried a few clubs here and keep running into issues...but I'm wondering if they're really issues or is this just how stripping really is?
1. working 8 hours a night for at least 7 days straight is expected. (i've been bullied into working the straight week) most girls are hired from other counties and stay at apartments above or near the club. all of the girls look exhausted, dance to the same song every time, and seem strangely "close" with the male owners. ...hugging topless at the club, sleeping drunk in the bed with dancers...i've been pressured to drink hard liquor alone with the owner when i traveled long distance and had to stay at the club apartment. i got really scared and had to leave in the middle of the night. also when i said i dont drink, ive been told i have to drink when a guy takes a private...7 days of drinking is not nice.
2. cameras in the dressing room.
3. no DJS, just spotify or something similar.
4. if the customer wants to buy a dancer a drink it costs him 35-45 euros per drink. very hard to sell. guys will leave when they hear this, get offended, or pay it and never come back. however, i have had one or two guys come back and not care about the money. The dancer gets about 10 to 11 euros of this.
5. the privates are from 50-70 euros (depends on club) for 10 min no bottle. (other options with bottle available) the girl gets 30% or less . usually the guys also say this price is too much, get angry and leave, or take one but never come back. and these customers are very interested in me, are ready to pay, and have the money, but seriously feel like they are being scammed after i ask them for a 45 euro drink.
6. i dont remember the % of a bottle dancers keep but it is maybe 30% or less
7. there is no bouncer in the club. he is parked at the door and never seems to get involved with inside club issues even when i've asked for help.
8. no lockers/and or dressing room/private bathroom
if the guys dont tip (which happens a lot and nothing is done about it. they are allowed to sit and watch with a beer), then the dancers have to really hustle drinks & privates. and if you manage to hit the goldmine, a night full of ten minute privates will only get you so much cash. and a bought drink from a customer guarantees them 10-15 min of your time. so i've really had to schmooze one guy for an entire night, be in constant privates and pretend to drink fake booze for 200 euros.
i love dancing, but i feel like im putting in so much time for not enough compensation. i am also new so maybe im doing it wrong? or am i just a wimp?
-any and & all advice no matter how harsh is greatly appreciated-
*what is the norm for percentages the dancer takes home from drinks and privates? ( i havent experienced having to make a "tip out" so im assuming some of the cash taken makes up for the lack of tip out)
*what is the norm for male bosses? are they usually touchy feely creepy and rude to the dancers?
* what is the norm for a dancer schedule? how many days to work in a row before you burn out?
*how do you know when a club is bad? or good? what are the standards?...some basics a dancer should look for in every club ?
ps. i have looked through the forums for answers, and have found some...so if there are any threads that relate, please link them thanks ;-)
