What kind of diet are you on? Or phrased better, what is your typical diet?
I have found that eliminating sugar (with the exception of low GI fruit), white carbs, dairy, gluten, and fat except for avocado/nuts/beans has been a god send.

I'm not on a diet. I try to make healthy choices and vary what I eat. Key word: healthy. Veggies, fruit, complex carbs, low fat protein, limit preservatives and sugar. Eat some fat cause I like having nice skin and hair.
Eat healthy. Exercise. Eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full. Make good choices. Grapes>Doritos.

For me, it's mainly fruits, veggies, nuts, eggs, and some chicken if I'm still hungry. I'm trying to avoid bread at all costs. Also, am trying to make potatoes a once in a blue thing (I mainly like these fries they sell at whole foods that is supposed to have a couple of servings of veggies).
What I'm trying to work toward is a Mediterranean diet, but without the bread lol. Also more fish and cheese (will be difficult as I'm not a big fish/cheese person). Mediterranean diet is supposed to be great for slowing down aging.

Vegan, except for the rare/occasional organic, free-range eggs. I mostly shop at Trader Joe's. I love to eat Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai food. Those are my favorites.
I don't eat sliced bread at all, I just don't care for it, and it bloats me. The only bread products I eat is pita bread with hummus, that is a staple of mine. I also love lentils, veggies, nuts, seeds, fruits, greens (kale, spinach, green beans, broccoli, etc.), soups, salads, vegan pizza, some soy products, quinoa, potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice & beans, and dark chocolate. I am also a huge fan of vegan tamales and enchiladas. I could live on that stuff alone. I don't drink soda ever. I drink lots of water, some tea, mango juice, and other fruit juice. I've cut way back on coffee, and will only drink it if I really need it for the caffeine. Otherwise, I just drink chai tea lattes. I feel much healthier now that I don't drink coffee as often. My stress levels are way down too. Coffee makes my heart rate too fast and makes me nervous. I'd rather be zen. lol

I'm not on a particular diet. Instead I am focusing on stopping eating when I'm full. Sounds obvious, but now that I've taken the time to slow down and listen to my body, I'm realizing I have been overeating without realizing. I'm trying to drop some weight I've gained this pass year due to depression, and I've been stumped because I am not losing despite jogging and I don't feel I am eating poorly, but now that I've been slowing down I've realized I've definitely been overeating. This includes not overeating healthy foods! I am focusing on whole grains, lean meats, lots of veggies, and fruit as dessert. I'm trying to quit soda, but it is SOOOOO hard! I crave it worse than any cake or candy. I'm proud of myself so far. In a nutshell, I want to eat well as a healthy lifestyle, so the weight I lose won't come back on.

I'm on WW starting a week ago. But I haven't been good. I eat really healthy but I love to eat. And I get really hungry at night. I've been going to the gym maybe 5 days a week for cardio. Pilates 2 times a wk. I really need to eat less and workout more. I really need to drop at least ten pounds. It's the last ten or so that are the hardest.
Im on a "traditional diet". I eat healthy fats(lard, real butter, ghee), i avoid carbs such as(rice, potato, bread, flour, sugar), pasture raised meats, organic amish made cheese, real milk, greens, fermented foods. Now I eat every 2 hours.
when i stopped eating bread, sugar i saw difference over the night!
Whole, non-processed foods (full-fat dairy, white meats, fish, lots of vegetables, whole grains, eggs, legumes, fruits).
I guess that's the most concise summary.
Before I increased the amount of fat in my diet (olive oil and full-fat dairy, specifically), I could seriously eat three meals in a row without feeling full. I'd also crave processed sugar like woah. This diet is working for me, now.

By "diet," I just mean "the stuff I eat." I assumed that's what the OP meant. "Diet" is often treated like a dirty word, when its true meaning is far more benign!

When I'm on track I do gluten free, dairy free mainly veggie diet, I do eat animal products but not a lot.

Exactly! Common sense. I eat these options when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full. I've tried meal-planning and calorie counting, but the trouble I run into is let's say I have a 500 calorie breakfast planned. Maybe I'm not hungry enough on a particular day. Or maybe I need more.
I know this thread is about just eating in general not "dieting" but just my two cents. Calorie counting NEVER has worked for me. Some people swear by it, whereas for me it makes me obsessive, nervous, paranoid, and paradoxically hungrier. Now if I go out to eat, I do like to know the counts because a seemingly harmless chicken sandwich could have 1300 calories. But like Charlie said healthy, natural foods. Even if it's a dessert, I make it at home so I can control what's in it.

I'm on a strict Mediterranean diet. I only eat French and Italian food.
It's tough, I tell ya, .![]()

I am on an eat whatever I want diet lol, while being a vegetarian that is. I will eat sweets when I want them and have cheat days when I want them lol. I do try to not overdue it but when those cravings are strong, I feed in.![]()
Generally, I would say I eat pretty healthy but do like to indulge at times too. I can never get past 100 pounds though so it is alright.
I also do strength training 6 days out of the week to build some muscle so have to be on a calorie surplus for this anyway. xx

Generally a high protein no carbs kick but I just had a blueberry bagel so there goes that.
I hate diets. After I quit smoking i gained 20lbs because i discovered how friggin good food actually tastes!! i eat whatever i want in moderation and try to workout a few times a week.
If i want steak for dinner i'll have it. But instead of French fries i'll have baked potato and sautéed spinach with garlic. I'll have fruit for dessert. If i want a slice of cheesecake i'll have that too but my dinner will be grilled chicken breast or salmon with a salad and instead of dressing i use 1 tablespoon (or less) of quality olive oil, squeeze of fresh lemon juice and maybe a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
i haven't lost the 20lbs that i gained after i quit smoking either but i haven't gained anymore weight. I tried to fight my body in the beginning about the weight gain and i worked out, i did the whole Myfitnesspal...blah blah blah. Cheesecake tastes REALLY, REALLY good and i just want to enjoy it

Ketogenic
High fat, moderate protein, very low carb.
I've been on every diet know to man and this is the best one yet. Highly
sustainable. Going on one month and down 7lbs, I only need to lose 10lbs
so I'm pretty happy with with the progress and I'm never hungry.

Paleo for 5 years now.

I primarily eat a ketogenic diet, focusing on healthy fats and protein, and most of my carbs come from green veggies. I also consume a lot of black coffee and dark chocolate <3
