Default Getting lip injections and working the same night?

I finally scheduled an appointment to get my lips done. The only thing is, I scheduled it for next Friday, and Friday is one of my best nights! The appointment is for 3, and I start work around 8. It's not really a big deal if I take that night off, but I'd much rather work if it's possible. And, of course, I'm going to run it by the doctor, but I was wondering what experiences you all have had with getting Restylane/Juvederm injected into your lips and how soon after you were able to work, especially with respect to bruising/swelling.

(Please do not advise me to re-schedule the appointment, lol.)

Yeah your going to need a few days. Make sure you have arnica cream and oral pills you can get that at any co-op. Start taking arnica a few days before and stop taking any fish oil, alcohol or blood thinners. Have some ice packs in the freezer for when you get home. After 3-4 days you should be fine, you can cover any bruisng with makeup

Are you a sweller? I always get my lips done with my friend and as soon as the numbing wears off I'm good to go, I mean they're a little sore but they never swell like crazy(except for when I wake up the first day or 2 after because my face is puffy then but it goes down within like 15 min). My friend however always says that hers really burn and sting and she needs to pop Advil or Benadryl after. I could literally work a shift immediately after having mine done, or do anything immediately after, but I know my friend sure as hell couldn't.

Okay, I got 8ccs of Restylane lift plus a dental block, and there's no effing way I'm working tonight. My face is numb and paralyzed and my lips are pretty swollen. And I have a headache from all this mfing ice.

I look cute but yeah I'm staying in!

Yes- I can't imagine working a shift after. You should feel and look better in 48-72 hours.

I've gone to work the day after, not the day of.

I have gone to work the day of getting my lips done. A lot of people didn't even notice because I had naturally full lips to begin with! As far as the pain goes I felt numb the whole time and would probably wait a few days to go to work since you cannot really move them or smile.

i do it now, but I get them done all the time so it's no biggie for me anymore. The swelling etc will usually become less and less the more often you touch up in the future. But I do think you're not supposed to exercise the day of?

Different drs say different things. Dr Genter said light exercise was ok.

My doctor advised me not to bend over or do anything that can cause higher blood pressure in the lips, but she didn't caution me against exercise/activity in general.

I really didn't feel like exercising that day though, lol.
