If anyone is interested, one of tonight's episodes on Forensic Files is about a dancer in Pennsylvania who was murdered by one of her customers. The episode is on HLN at 9 pm EST. Very sad story.

It looks like it's on the internet too.

I love Forensic Files! I never saw this episode, but I just watched it on the internet link provided above. Very sad story indeed...I actually lived in NJ when this happened, not too far away. I was very young at the time though. My heart goes out to that poor girl and her family.

I know there's an episode where a dancer in New Jersey was killed by a drunk patron who was enraged when she turned him down for sex. fwiw

It's true story stuff? Idk, never watched it..don't like that kind of stuff, gives ppl ideas, not that they don't get 'em on their own
MANY MEN WANTED TO LAY ME DOWN, BUT FEW WANTED TO LIFT ME UP
-Eartha Kitt
watching it from this link now. i tried my cable but its showing another episode. So messed up to kill someone like that. She seemed vibrant and energetic judging from the pictures.
The show said her name was Rachel (though there was disclaimer at end saying some names have been changed) and she made a few errors that I think women can learn from - She was too trusting. Knowing what I know now, I would never go with any customer especially if they are intoxicated (because drunks/druggies are more likely to be violent) and I would never be one on one especially at night.
So sad she trusted him because he was a regular and spent decent money so she, nor anyone else, probably had no idea he would harm her. She was too nice and trying to help a drunk man who didn't deserve it. Hope his wife divorced him and they put him under the jail.
It's sad when customers fail to realize the strip club is a fantasy only. you have fun while you're there and then leave and go home.

Girl in New Orleans had this same thing happen to her. But it was a couple that killed her.

How about the nutjob in Philly that got love drunk on a stripper and murdered his wife to be with her, meanwhile he's a payday to the dancer. THAT must have been a nightmare for her.

At the club I work at now, a girl was killed going home in the 90s. Two guys followed her when she stopped at a gas station, they even talked to the gas station worker who said to leave her alone because she's married.. They still do candle vigils and things like that for her.

I've discovered really drunk people can be really dangerous, not just to bouncers & bartenders but usually women. Alcohol lowers inhibitions & enhances mood (good or bad.) Add that to unchecked strength & you have a terrible mix.
Back on topic, yeah sucks to say but violence directed at dancers is all too common. We have to look out for each other.

It's time for sex workers to turn the tables!

My girlfriend had worked with her at the club and I had originally heard about this from her. I was listening to Forensic Files on satellite radio when they described what happened. I thought it sounded familiar, then I remember what my girlfriend told me, and I realized it was the same person. It's very sad, especially that she was still alive when he threw her off the bridge. If he didn't do that, she would still be alive and he would probably have gone to prison for a few years instead of life (hopefully). I wish she had never gone to his room. It's so sad.
I watch Forensic files too. Can't say I love it because some of the stories are very depressing, but I find it very interesting.
