Default Former classmate has FBed me about meeting at the club ..

    Hey ladies,

I have, what I think is, a unique situation.

There's a guy who I went to high school with who I keep in touch with maybe once a year, usually during the holidays or on each others birthdays. We kind of had a crush on each other in high school but this was ten years ago and we have only seen each other a handful of times since then.

He's tried to hook up with me a couple of times but I've never been interested. He was a hottie in high school but now .. not so much. But he does have money to spend now. A lot of it.

He knows that I am a stripper and he has suggested that we meet in the club in my hometown, which I have never worked at before. I know he goes to the club on a semi-regular basis and spends money.

I'm currently in the Europe but in a couple of months I'll be at home to visit my family and I'm considering taking him up on his offer. I never dance in my hometown because it's way too small and I would be terrified of running into other people from high school or who know my family. If I could just make an arrangement beforehand with him, meet him there and quickly sneak away into the VIP, that would be perfect. I could make a couple of bucks while visiting my family and I think this could potentially become a semi-regular thing with him.

What do you girls think? Should I negotiate how long we'll spend together prior to meeting up? I've already told him it needs to be worth my time but I haven't specified how much. Should I go out of my way to make it SUPER clear that I'm just dancing? Is this crossing too many real life/stripper life boundaries and will just confuse things for the both of us? Do you think the fact that he already knows me OTC means that he'll be a lot more demanding?

So, if I'm reading this correctly, you don't actually work at this club he suggested, but he wants to meet you there to spend money on you in VIP - just one night? Before even getting into whether or not it's a good idea, how do you plan to pull that off logistically? Are you planning to jump through the hoops of getting hired at this club just for one night? If you've never danced there, you don't even know if they'll be accepting auditions the day you go in, if they'll allow you to work the same night, if they'll let you work your desired shift, etc. And if you pop in and out once, they probably aren't going to let you just come back every few months to do this one shift for money from one guy again.

This sounds like way more effort than it's worth for a potential customer, who, for all you know, is gonna back out/chicken out/have an "emergency" the night of and leave you stuck there working a shift in a club you otherwise sound like you have no desire to be in. Guys pull weird "fantasy talk" shit all the time - talking about how hot it would be to hook up in a certain scenario, and then back out at the last minute. He's not a regular that you can depend on - he's a dude from high school who thinks it's hot that he knows a stripper. I wouldn't go through the trouble of one shift at a new club on the off-chance that he's serious.
Don't try to win over the haters. You are not the Jerk Whisperer.

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

It wouldn't be a problem getting hired at this place. They are always hiring and its one of those places where they are eager to have new fresh faces. I'm in the town on a regular basis to visit my family, so I wouldn't really be going out of my way. Anyone can literally work whatever shift they want and whatever night they want. No audition process and not much in terms of paper work. I have a bunch of friends who work there on a regular basis and some who travel there occasionally. The guy who does the hiring is also someone that I went to school with when I was a kid.

Though I think your advice does make sense. It is a risk and there is a high probability that he will chicken out at the last minute or wouldn't spend the money that he says he will. I think I would only consider this if I was already in town, had nothing better to do and was up for working at this place regardless.

I'm more concerned about mixing my private life and work life and this will affect me on a personal level. What makes stripping easier for me is that these are perfect strangers whos laps I'm grinding on and crossing that boundary might be difficult. So I was wondering if any other girls had experience with this type of thing.

This smells hella fishy. Personally I wouldn't touch that situation with a ten foot pole. Think about all the potential risks vs the possible benefits. At most you'll get into the club and make some money off of him and other patrons... let's be generous and even say you leave with $1,000 that night. Now the worst possible outcome, he could show up with "a friend" or "two" that you would rather not run into there, the situation could end up being awkward/less than lucrative, and who knows who else might pop in that night. If he's so damn interested in seeing you at the club, maybe he should be coming to your city to watch you work and not the other way around. If you're comfortable enough with him, tell him you can dance for him in your hotel room or where ever your staying. That way you can agree on a price and have the comfort of knowing no unwanted spectators will be there. Just be sure you have some kind of safety plan in place should he try anything with you (or have a friend there who can play bouncer)... but that seems like a lot of work. Short answer... it doesn't seem worth it.

I wouldn't do it. Something in my gut tells me that something bad is going to happen.

Honestly, I agree with what the others are saying. It's not worth it. He's telling you where he wants to see you, and that he wants you to come to him, but what he's suggesting is not practical. And you said yourself that you would never dance in your hometown. Why make an exception for him? You should always do things on your terms when making your money. Don't let people make special requests with you if it's inconvenient for you in any way. When you do things your way, you'll be more comfortable and you'll make more money that way.

Thanks for the advice ladies. We just made plans for him to pop into one of my regular clubs when I'm back. If he shows up, he shows up and if not, I'm not missing out on much and can still make money.

EastCoastDancer - I'm not really sure why I was willing to make an exception for him. I guess some kind of weird rekindling of high school romance or something ... but not really lol.
