    Dizzy Is it possible

Is it possible That the club I got hired at is too hard for me start working in with no experience? I went in for an audition at the club I work at now, it's my first week. When I went it I talked to bouncers and bartenders about dancing and I told them I had no experience. They proceeded to tell me not to tell them I had no experience but just that it's been awhile. Anyway I've been dancing for about 3 days now and I'm not horrible but I'm not interesting on the pole either. The girls working there looked seasoned and can do pole tricks all the way up to the ceiling rafters. I feel like I'm way to amateur to even begin to stay and I haven't even worked a weekend yet. I picked this club because I knew it was high class and there is money to be made and a strict no extras policy. Please any advice. Should I leave or stick it out?

I've been dancing for over four years, I don't do any pole work at all and I make 600+ regularly

You get seasoned by doing something, and doing it often. Your first few shifts are going to be akward as fuck but that's pretty natural. Why don't you look into a 4 week pole dancing class in your area just to get the basics, and then really focus on hustling lapdances and VIP/CR (which is where all the money is anyway)?

Sometimes the more you think about something, the harder it gets. Newbies have a serious advantage.

    The typical pattern:

Newbies: make a lot of money (oblivious, lucky phase)
Newbies - Intermediate: make a bit less money (learning phase)
Intermediate - Advanced: earnings steadily increase (learning and plateau phase)

My first shift, I couldn't even stand in my high heels unless I hand my hand on a wall or something to stabilize myself. Walking felt like a ridiculous gamble where each step was a potential topple. My initial stage shows had me sitting on my legs or (more often) standing next to the pole and holding it in both hands in a white knuckle grip while I slowly, cautiously moved my hips from one side to the other in a clunky, awkward fashion. Stairs were terrifying inventions and ramps were just flat out impossible.

Luckily, I had the benefit of a dancer friend who'd been dancing for years and who had her own pole I could practice with at home, but by far the biggest and most consistent help for me has been watching what the other girls do in a given club and copying (or trying to copy) them. Obviously you don't want to single out someone and steal all of their signature moves, but when you're starting out, copying the established dancers can help give you a foundation to build your own style from. Recently I've taken a pole trick a girl did in one of my earlier brand-new-baby-stripper clubs and adjusted it so I could start incorporating it into lap dances. You'll get there eventually, but give yourself time. If you've found a good, clean club to start your dancing career in, I'd say you're pretty lucky and would definitely suggest you stick it out, if possible.

Are you making alright money for yourself? If so, maybe try focussing on floor work more when there are people watching, and then any time the club is dead, use the time to practice pole tricks then. Floor work is considerably easier to get a good grasp on, and also a lot easier to practice if you don't have a good pole studio in your area or your own pole at home. Also, every club is different, but generally pole tricks look amazing and can get people's attention, but they're not always so great at generating tips. If you can strike a balance between both, that's the ideal sweet spot, but otherwise, guys are more apt to come up and tip you if you're on the stage itself, closer to their level. So especially for a brand new newbie, floor work is probably a safe bet. There are some great videos in the instructional video thread when it comes to floor work. Also watching pole dancing competition videos can help -- even though it's pole dancing, they usually have a good deal of floor work involved, especially at the beginning. Youtube in general is your friend -- there's a surprising amount of pole and floor work tutorials to be found there.

    Tricks:

Starting out, just hold onto the pole and jump/kick off the ground in such a way that you spin around it. It's a simply trick that's pretty easy to master and it can build your arm and abdominal strength a little for more advanced stuff later. Also try hoisting yourself up to "stand" on the pole. With that, if you can hold on with your legs, you can strike nifty poses with your arms and torso that are artistically beautiful and sexy while also being fairly easy to maintain. Once you learn how to hoist yourself up and "stand," you know everything you need in order to climb to the top, but it may take some time for you to build your strength. It'll happen faster than you think, but give yourself time. If the pole's a spinning one, everything you do will look cool, including just sliding down the pole with your body curled up a little so it looks line you're wrapped around the pole and spiralling/tumbling down. You don't need to go to the top to be worth while. From there, it's relatively easy to branch out and start experimenting with different tricks. In the meantime, while you're still getting used to it, maybe use the pole more as a prop for your floor work. Act like it's a stand in lover that you're trying to seduce the daylights out of. The double bonus of this is you not only have a sexy prop, you also get some experience with the pole in your hand and against your body. You'll most likely start branching out on your own and testing out all your "I wonder if I can..." thoughts, and before you know it, you'll be doing tricks at the top of the pole like everyone else. All of those girls were new, too. It sounds like your club is a good place for someone new to the industry. I'd definitely try to stay if you can. If you can't or you're not making enough money, you can always come back later, too.

Neighborhood dives are newbies' friends. Get your sea legs, then trade up.

Play up the new thing with customers .. Guys can be all over that. I wouldn't worry too much about stage stuff .. when I first started I would just sort of walk around caressing my boobs. Then I was would around the pole doing the same thing. And then I would somehow get on the ground and do some ground work .. which was mostly me with an arched back caressing my boobs. I would crawl over to perverts row (the chairs immediately at the pole) and sweetly say things like "Hey boys! Thanks for keeping me company up here. I'm a total newbie!". Everyone thought I was nervous, sweet and innocent.

Anyways, it worked and my dancing never did get more developed than that lol.

I too am new to this lifestyle and am going to audition in July at my first club. Seeing your post makes me feel better and calm my nerves, knowing that someone else has an experience that I probably will have as well makes me feel at ease. So thank you. I too wonder the same things, but in your case I think you should stick it through and keep on trying, you got hired for a reason. They must have seen something in you. Good for you!

Keep trying ! Work the hard shifts. That's the only way you are going to learn.

its not bad dancing guys just really care about boobies. But I feel insecure going up after someone that looks like an acrobat. I need to get hustling down because that's where the money is at. I need to learn how to get guys in the champagne room and I don't like telling guys I'm new because some have tried to take advantage of me during lap dances.

when I started dancing in the early 90's I couldnt walk in heels either. I mostly did floor work or leaned with my back against the pole and just slid up and down or walked around it. Try to find a dive bar that is empty during the day and you could practice and have the seasoned girls teach you some basics.

Dude, I have been doing the same boring stage shit for over eight years. I know four basic pole tricks. I told a really good pole dancer recently that i get intimidated by being on stage with her and she told me that SHE gets intimidated by being up there with me. I said OMG why? And she said, "Because you always get really good tips compared to what i get." So there you go. Go slow and sexy, stroke your body like you love it and it turns you on, and try not to compare yourself to other girls.
