    Default Splits in 6 months challenge.

    Does anyone here want to try a splits challenge with me?

    There are 30 day and 90 day split challenges online but honestly, I do not think that is a very realistic amount of time to get flexible enough for the splits, so I will try for 6 months.

    I used to be pretty flexible and could do the splits, but after years of not doing any stretches or anything, I have lost a lot of my flexibility and can no longer do them.

    I am going to start out trying Blogilates 30 day split challenge stretches, will come back every 30-90 days and update on my results.

    Anyone else want to work on getting flexible with me?

    Is this possible? I've never been able to do the splits even as a child in tumbling classes

    Sorry, thought I posted the stretching pictures here!

    She did not do a video on her doing each individual stretch, but explains a bit in her video how to do the challenge.

    I think it is possible after a long period of doing stretches. I was able to get into the splits before, but I find flexibility has to be maintained, even if that is spending some time doing stretches everyday or just getting into the splits again everyday.

    I did my split in a week after following her recommendations. but not the middle split, that one is veryyyyy hard.

    Does Blogilates explain how long to stretch for? I too have been starting my stryching experience to splits pretty recently, i would say about 6 or 7 days ago I started and I am almost at a split. I spend about 20 minutes a day stretching. Ten before a workout 10 after my workout. Some days longer or shorter based on my laziness. I do 5,6,8,10,11,12,14,15,19,20,21,22 and 30 with my butt on the wall while I lay on a mat.

    She says 30 seconds to 1 minute. I hold mine for 30 seconds, doing the full stretching routine twice a day.

    Wow, almost to the splits after 6 or 7 days? I am jealous lol. Way to go.

    Thanks for the response. Wow seems like a short time period to stretch and make progress. But lets see how it goes for you. Also I am shocked too about the progress in such short period of time too. I never thought I would actually get this far either lol

    I never said where I was starting out at, but I am about 4 and a half inches away from the floor on one side and 6 on the other. I am less flexible on one side. I think one side being less flexible than the other is pretty common though.

    And also, on number 6 on the challenge, it looks like she has a block propping her leg up, but I do not do this. Instead, I go as far into the splits as I can and hold it for 30 seconds on each side. Hopefully I will get further and further into it each time.

    The lady who made the challenge said that you only need to do 1-5 each and everyday, but I do number 6 with them too because it is nice to see how far I am getting into the splits.

    I will be back in 30 days to update my progress.

    Good luck ladies!!! I have never been flexible at all my entire life, couldn't even touch my toes. With consistent gym sessions I would practice stretching and my splits after every workout, was able to get them down in about 8 months. Being [email protected] work and practicing onstage helped occasionally too. Lol
    Unsophisticated in the finest sense of the word.

    Update still not a full split yet, bit I continue to stretch every days and I am becoming more and more flexible. I can see progress and the other day at the gym while stretching a bunch of girls can up to me and told me they wereimpressed with how flexible I was. So i guess that is a good sign. Keep up the good work ladies !

    Update for me:

    It hasn't been a month of doing stretches for me yet, but posting because I have seen quite a bit of progress already. I am just a smidge over 2 inches into the splits on one side.

    The other side still has a bit to go because I think I might have permanently strained a muscle while doing the Insanity workout 2 years ago.

    But I don't think it will be much longer now until I get the splits down on the one side.

    After 30 days of holding the stretches for 30 seconds each, I'm going to increase to holding the stretches for one minute, seeing if it helps me to get into the splits even sooner.

    Good luck to everyone who is still doing this or who wants to start. (:

    I'd like to get in on this as well. Today is day one. I'm not terribly inflexible and I was able to do regular splits but I've never been able to do middle splits. Hopefully with regular practice, I will!

    I am now able to get into the splits on one side now, but still working on the other side. As soon as I can get into the front splits on both sides, I am going to work on my standing splits next.
