Hey! So, I danced briefly a few years ago & want to get back into it. I'm wondering if you can make decent money without private/lap dances? Or if you know of any clubs that didnt require/strongly encourage girls to get dances? Thank you!

I mean, lap dances/VIP are a dancer's bread and butter and where the majority of your money would come from. I've heard that there are a few clubs where you can make decent money from stage alone, but from what I heard you also need to have crazy stage skills and presence. But honestly even then you likely wouldn't make anywhere close to what you'd make otherwise. Personally, I don't think it'd be worth it and you might be better off just not getting back into dances.
Urban clubs.
Thanks ladies! Do you remember which clubs in PDX you heard you could do alright at on stage alone? I'm not 100% apposed to private dances but id like to at least give a shot at primarily stage.

Second Arielbriel ^^ Urban clubs are your best hope. Not sure about the PDX area, but what about lap dances turns you off to them? If it's the contact, maybe try nude, or a club that has (and actually honors) a minimum dance distance? Seattle has a few of them, or they did at one point. Not sure about Portland.

I used to dance in DC last year and lap dances are illegal there and it's only stage. The club I worked at I didn't work at long (a few months) but I never made less than 100 a shift, and once I got regulars I got up to making 500 or 600 on a good weekend night. I never made incredible money, but it was definitely enough to get by.
Only places I know are Acropolis and Union Jack's and, again, if you don't have the pole skills you'll be up against some rough competition as the girls there do some amazing shit. I agree with ariel in that urban clubs might be your best bet. The only ones I know of are Dancin' Bare, Dream On, and King's Wild but just check out the club lists on here. Mostly look around SE Portland as that's where most of the urban clubs seem to be.
Maybe your place is different? All the clubs I've been to are full nude and two-way touching allowed even at the starter dances (20/40$ topless/full nude) but most girls increase the touching with the higher dances. Again, maybe other clubs in Portland are different but the ones I've been to in downtown touching is more or less expected even with full nude.

Yikes! I honestly really shouldn't be surprised that different areas have different norms at this point, but oops. I've recently warmed up to nude clubs with the idea/assumption that they (generally) mean strict no/very low contact everywhere. Two way contact allowed at the starter dance level seems to (almost) defeat the entire purpose. Like, "okay, the deal is you don't touch, I get more money/dance, and provided those conditions are met, then I'll drop my panties for you in addition to taking off my top." If customers are still going to be handsy, I'm keeping both layers of thongs securely in place, thankyouverymuch.
I've never danced in the PNW, so I don't know what the norm is up there. Disregard what I said about nude clubs, just in case ^^ Maybe do a search for portland area contact levels, assuming that's even a factor in your not wanting to give lap dances at all.

Orlando is zero contact but it's a hard, hard hustle and very, very, VERY few girls consistently make good money. As in, I've sure never met one.
Outer SE "urban" clubs have very little in the way of stage tips. Also the customers are waaaay handsy.

When I tried Rose City in PDX I did ok with stage tips without any contact or crazy pole tricks. I did more lap dances which was the majority of my money however but each time I went up on stage I got at least $10-$15 from the one guy sitting there all night.

^ i was thinking of trying rose city, but ive always heard they only like skinny girls and literally make you stand on a scale? Could i ask your general measurements...?

Haha that's funny! All I did was send in a picture of me at work from another place all dolled up & they took me right in. I was about 170-180 lbs when I worked there 2 yrs ago. I'm not sure of my exact measurments now but guestimating i wanna say around 34 D breast- 36 waist- 42 hips, I'm a thicker type girl but had no problem there. I only worked there one night though. I got the impression that it was mostly regs bc that's who I got all my dances with my first night there. When they figured out I wasn't an extras girl they stopped paying for dances. It's a cool place but i wasn't really digging it bc it felt really seedy & weird.

Urban clubs. I love it

A girl was telling me the other night that Texas is heavily stage based, idk if it's just some clubs.
Where I work right now a lot of girls barely do dances, just for regulars and they make a ton on stage.
This is true, but only to a point. Texas is less stage based than say, Atlanta, but you make more on stage than you would in NY. Stage varies from city to city, club to club. Austin is better stage money than Dallas, but you definitely couldn't make a living just doing stage there.
